I got this to replace an HP and a Canon. I am very happy with it. Set up was easy and I have no problems printing from all the computers in my office. Well worth the purchase!

This printer works as advertised. Print is crisp and clear. Colors are rich and vibrant. I just wish ledger (11×17) paper could be stored in the bottom paper tray for printing. I can only get it to feed from the rear or the top tray.

This printer has been performing without a hitch. I love the two sided feed and print features. Learning to use the printer has been a simple, intuitive process.

This machine has worked perfectly. The 2 sided single pass scanning and large format support is fantastic for what I do most. Printing quality is very good – THis isn’t a photo printer, but does a great job for most office document purposes.

This is the best printer I have owned so far, and not having to buy ink every 30 days is nice.

This printer has many useful features, including automatic double sided printing and scanning. It also has a third tray for paper types not regularly used, like envelopes and photo paper. The only downsides I see are that it is a HUGE printer, and the included scanning software no longer has a pre-scan feature which the older version had. Pre-scan is very useful for putting an odd sized paper on the platen and cropping the scan, and also for seeing how the scan will come out without saving the file and then having to delete it.

Great dual function for printing 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 17 utilizing two trays. Fast, crisp printing.

When the printer works it’s fine. The problem is that its inconsistent and unpredictable. It can take forever to get updates. I have a lot to say to improve the user experience. But I need to get back to work. If anyone is listening contact me.

I guess it’s best described from my perspective as something I look at as a consumable rather than a durable product. The print quality was never on par with either past multi-function inkjets or my large format inkjet (from day one and based on past experience, anyway) and it’s now become unusable in 16 months… Printing is unreadable due to extreme banding, cleaning has only made print quality and readability worse (yes, worse) and not better. It’s cheaper to replace than repair. I spent an hour running thru the cleaning dialog repeatedly when I absolutely, positively needed a document and the print quality declined with every effort throughout those cleaning cycles. I gave up and I sent the job to my large format printer of another manufacture… it had sat on standby for months, but it saved me and printed a beautiful document.

With printer prices so low, this Brother multi-function machine seems a little expensive at first glance. But the ease of basic setup, the variety of features and its ability to handle 11×17 printing make it worth the extra $100 or so that it costs. Color quality is excellent. My only complaint is that while basic features are easy to use, some of the more advanced uses are a little hard to learn because the unit came with only setup instructions–and there was no easy way to get the instructions.

I have used this printer many times now and I Love it. I have had several printers over the years and this one is by far the best one I’ve ever had. It prints, scans, copies and does faxes without any problems and is so easy to do. I highly recommend this printer to anyone that wants a great hassle free machine.

I volunteer for a non-profit and must print checks, letters, and envelopes; not to mention scan a lot of items for archiving. I had an HP and I found myself changing paper all the time to fit the situation. The Brother printer has two paper bays and a manual feed, and it has made an enormous difference for me. I never have to change paper now; I just select the proper feed in the print dialog. The scanning feature is incredible as well. With my HP, I had to do manual two-sided scanning. The Brother printer scans both sides with one pass. This is an incredible time saving feature. I can’t say enough good things about the Brother printer. Please note, it is a large printer; so, plan accordingly.

Support is slow, repeatedly have to renew the connection to my network, updates don’t happen. Piece of junk will not work on airprint. I’m going back to Canon.

Good print quality. Especially like the large 11×17 format. Works with macOS 10.6.8! Once we had the printer hooked up found that our older macs print just fine, even though the tech specs don’t say that. Very happy.
