although there is reportedly a driver tool which will allow you to adjust the ink density, I have been unsuccessful in getting and using it and the print is very faint; wondering if it is due to old starter ink included in the package

The printer was easy to set up – worked first time and every time after that. Print quality is excellent – size was perfect for my office.

I really like this all-in-one printer. I like the fact that the paper is stored inside the printer. It prints very quickly and accurately and doesn’t seem to use up the ink too quickly. I coudn’t be happier with this machine.

Actual operation is very good–print quality quite good. Set up instructions could have been easier to understand, but we finally got it working.

An advanced and trusted tech person recommended Brothers printers to me. I have been disappointed in the sharpness of the print and images, and deficit of deep colors that I was used to in my old printer which was much less expensive, and lasted for five or more years with no reduction in printing and color images.

Printer has good features, ink is affordable, print quality good, prints card stock, and generally meets my needs. I don’t print photos so I have no problems with this printer.

Comparing with MFC-J870DW, this one has less user friendly with MAC-OS users. It doesn’t provide the software (Something Center 4) for printing, scanning. I found it was very helpful for scanning specially.

I went through the first set of ink cartridges in just one month. My old printer (HP 8610) they lasted about 8 Months. There was only 6 gm of ink in the color cartridges and 9 gm of ink in the black cartridge. My 8610 had 27 gm for color Cartridges and 70 gm in the black cartridge.

Good printer except for: Display screen is way to small! Paper tray (being at very bottom of machine) makes it difficult to get a good rip to reload!

Got this when my old printer went belly up. Easy to set up and prints wirelessly, which my wife and I love.

unit is on quick sleep so it awakes fast for quick printing. Probably does cost ink consumption in this ready vs deep sleep mode. Footprint is good but doesn’t matter as rather have a good feed tray taking up vertical space. Scanning and printing is slower than average. Paper tray “falls out” when pulling out tray for paper refill. Tray does not have icon for envelope orientation Always guess the wrong way

I bought this to work from home and I do give it a workout! The scanner works great and the printing is pretty good for not being an expensive printer. Pics come out good, not great but then it’s not a photo printer. I only give this 4 stars because it’s my 3rd machine in 1yr! The 1st worked great for like 10 months then gave me an error code (cannot print 50) that after several hrs of online searching for resolution I had to use an “Ask a service question” app to get it taken care out. That worked for another 3-4 months before it happened again! I must say customer service was great about it and was finally able to get me a refurbished replacement in a wk. I couldn’t buy the same machine anywhere faster during a pandemic. Unfortunately the replacement machine only lasted 1-2 months before I get the same error code again! This time customer service got me a new replacement within 2-3 days. It’s been about 3 wks now and so far so good! It may be I work it too hard working from home, I do print alot… I’m hoping that when I go back to the office later this month and I won’t be printing as much at home this 3rd machine will last longer. We’ll see!

Set up and running in minutes, nicer features than the Cannon printer replaced.

Very happy with printer. However, finding out if it was compatible with MAC mohave and the set up wasted a huge amount if time pre purchase. Link in Brother web site was hard to find and info when found us not self-explanatory.

Bought this brand for the first time and I am very happy with the print quality and the operation. Everything is set up to be very convenient to use and get information.
