Replaced a wireless HP printer that we could never to work properly, even after working HP reps and several software updates. This printer has worked flawlessly right out of the box. Couldn’t be happier!

I like it a lot, I give 4 because I have print 5 papers and they came out really good with good precision. There are a few things I think could be better but overall, it’s a great printer.

Prints very good, easily connected to my WiFi, and was an inexpensive purchase. Seems to not use up ink as fast as my previously owned HP printers. Although, the ink cartridges appear to be priced similar to HP products. Have owned this printer for about two months and find that it scans and prints well. Would have given it a higher rating if I could have found how to print envelopes easier. There was no information in the information provided with the printer or that could be found through the website. Very frustrating! It actually does print envelopes quite well by use of the paper tray, but no information points you to the tray. A good flashlight and willingness to explore helped solve my issue.

This is an excellent printer for the home office. It produces very clear and high quality copy, graphics, and charts. It makes great copies and scans. The controls are very accessible and easy to understand. I was also very pleased with the ease of changing print ink cartridges. Graphic display is easy to read and is very easy to navigate. Printing from multiple devices, including a stand alone PC, a PC laptop, an Apple tablet and an I-Phone all work seamlessly. I really like how compact it is. It has great features with a small footprint. Perfect for my home office.

Colors are not as rich as my HP Color Jet Printer and it does not reproduce color photos

Works okay for home use. Easy setup. A little slow. Note that you cannot connect to wireless network (wifi) and wired (wlan) at the same time. But you can have LAN cable connected and switch back and forth from wifi to wlan in settings on the machine. BTW. Purchasing online from B&H is great. Simple steps, good review info, quick shipping, good prices.

I HAD A CANON, THAT CLAIMED THAT IT DID EVERYTHING, PRINTING WAS A MISERABLE EXPERIENCE, TOTAL RUBBISH. PURCHASED A BROTHERS, EASY TO SET UP, ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM.

Works as expected compared to my cannon mg pixel. Speedy faxes, scans, prints&copies. Great value. Takes a few minutes to download apps and drivers, but when finished, the Brothers product runs seemlessly. Highly recommend.

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. SETUP:Completing the initial setup was easy, as both the “Quick Start Guide” and prompts on the LCD touchscreen screen of the printer were easy to follow. This printer connected to Wifi with no issues. The ink cartridges it came with were easy to install. APPEARANCE: This printer looks nice and sleek. I appreciate that it is black instead of white or gray/tan like many other printers on the market. The top paper feeder folds away to give it a more compact appearance. The LCD touchscreen is large, bright, and flips out at an angle for easy viewing while you are standing and looking down on the printer. PROS: Has a small footprint for a machine with print/fax/copy/scan capabilities, which works well in my tiny workspace. My favorite thing about this printer is that is is compatible with my PC, but also uses AirPrint, so I can print quickly and easily from any of my devices. Paper moves easily through the machine without jamming. It can do dual-sided prints. CONS: The paper tray in the bottom is flimsy plastic and it is awkward to refill (you have to take the whole tray out to load more paper). Print quality is a bit lower than expected, so I would not use it for important professional documents, though it is fine for everyday tasks. This printer prints pages slower than other printers I have used.Overall, I would recommend this printer, especially for a small home office or small business. It gives you all the functionality of much and more expensive printers and at a low price point.

I bought the MFC-J895DW because I also have a MFC-J625DW that has been my workhorse for 5 years. Like the 625, the 895 has a USB port which I assumed functioned similarly–e.g., scan to media (a thumb drive). However, on the 895, I can find no way to do this, basically the USB port is nonfunctional–hence, my one big issue with the printer. Also, of late I have had printer driver issues (using new Mac Mini) which makes me have to scan several times to get a good scan. All that said, the 895 prints beautifully if that is what you mainly do.

Based my choice on positive Consumer Reports review. It’s a good printer but had initial difficulty setting up Wifi.

Uses a lot of ink. Get error messages about cartridges that won’t reset even after following the directions, have to replace cartridges that still have ink in them to clear error.

Our Brother printer was a great value for the price. It makes copies easily and prints beautifully. We are very happy with it. In the past Brother copiers lasted a long time. They are really a terrific company.
