Simple to connect and offering print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities in a single unit, the MFC-J895DW-series Work Smart All-in-One Inkjet Printer from Brother will fill a variety of critical roles in any home or home office. It offers good speed with 12 ppm printing in black and 10 ppm in color. It also will create detailed photographs and sharp text with a print resolution of 6000 x 1200 dpi. Along with this, automatic duplex and borderless printing are available at print sizes up to 8.5 x 11", though the unit can handle documents as large as 8.5 x 14".
Scanning and faxing are possible due to the integration of a flatbed and 20-sheet ADF that handles your documents and photos. The max optical resolution is 2400 x 1200 dpi for creating vivid, finely detailed images. Also, it has a 2.7" color touchscreen LCD for checking status and adjusting settings. Standard paper handling is possible via the 100-sheet input tray and a bypass feed is available for certain media.
Setting up the MFC-J895DW is simple with options for USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet with NFC connectivity. Users will also be able to connect directly with their mobile devices using Wi-Fi Direct. In addition to this, a USB host port is available for plugging in portable flash drives and there is a vast array of mobile printing support.

Can not for the life of get this printer to stay on my WiFi. I have to power down and restart the printer and the Mac every time I need to print something. I can print from my IPad just fine anywhere around the house so that tells me the WiFi is working just fine, but then if I try to print from my Mac that sits right next to printer and the printer sits about 15 feet and one interior wall away from my router. No luck (that sucks big time).

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. When I first received this printer I noted that is was very easy to set up. I like the way the paper tray is tucked in to the device and doesn`t stick out, which was my main complaint about my last printer. When I turned on the printer it led me through the steps to get everything installed. Loading the ink cartridges was incredibly easy as there was only one way they fit in. I was really happy that there was a clear way to install the printer without using the CD port, my last printer did not have that option and my computer doesn`t have a CD drive so that was important to me. It took around 20 minutes to get everything set up. The quality of the pages is great and printing does not take long at all. The copies I made were clear and the scanning function worked like a charm. I have only ever used one brand of printer before this and the Brother printer was very comparable to what I had been using before, but less expensive. I would definitely recommend this system.

I am impressed how quickly I prints. The noise level though is quite lound and sounds like a broken washing machine. The print quality is good. The estimate of 200 copies pure print quantity of 200 is off. For plain black it started to fade-away after 100 plus copies.

I love that new Brother printer has WiFi so I can print from multiple devices, Black and white copy is better than color, but my God, I’ve owned this machine for a mere two months and on my third cartridge of Black ink and onto my second cartridge of color ink! I haven’t gone through a ream of paper yet. My old Brother, printed hundreds of copies for years without my having to replace the ink cartridge until this past April.

Was difficult to set up with new Arris BB11 WiFi cable modem. Had to call for support. Support said printer had connectivity issues with Arris unit. Connectivity issues still remain 6 months later. Every week or so a print job fails and I have to clear print jobs on computer and eboot printer to get things working again.

No problem installing, easy 5-10 minutes. The printing quality is very good. Changing ink cartridges is a breeze. All in all, I am very happy with my 2 new printers. I would recommend one improvement: to access the Fax I need a landline with a traditional phone plug. We are totally wireless. Wireless fax would be a big plus, or some way to connect to my cell phone. That would make this product outstanding.
