Good balance of multi-function features, plays well with Mac OSX & iOS. Ink tank & auto-refill features also good
Lauretta Bergstrom (verified owner) –
It’s does every thing that we need it to do, easy to operate, good quality printing. So far it seems to be economic on ink consumption.

after years of purchasing HP, and not having good luck with their printers the last couple, I chose Brother brand. So happy I did! I would purchase that brand again, done with HP and high cost of ink cartridges.

I like that I have a choice of copying, whether it be top feed or under the cover or hood of the copier.

Best home-office printer I’ve experienced (first one in 1996).

I was in a position where old printer, of a different brand, needed replacement. After two weeks, I’m still finding issues to address with this one. I will have to call for a third installation assistance tomorrow, as I now find the scanner is not hooked up. First I could not get the printer connected at all. My desktop computer does not have a disk drive, so I had to be led through steps. That was finally accomplished, then I could not use the copier. Had to get help again. Now the scanner is an issue. I don’t know why ONE wifi connection between the printer and existing desktop computer is not sufficient. I’ve never had such a problem connecting two before this. As I design and print, I’ve often found the colors and contrast on the computer screen differed from actual print, and this machine has been the most difficult so far. While reps will say it is an issue with the computer, the inks and print quality also come into play. When I questioned that issue, I was told to use different paper. That was during a call to find out why I could not set the print quality to regular (it was defaulting, without ability to change, to best, making one copy take a minute or so to print!). There is no photo ink cartridge for this machine, and the print commands and use of specific paper is more necessary than I’ve dealt with before. Maybe I no longer have the savvy needed, but between the manual and tiny (hard to read) buttons on the printer, the steps needing to be taken to resolve issues do not appear clearly presented/ intuitive — to me. One other thing that disappoints is the paper tray. It seems very unstable, like made cheaply. Each attempt to check paper and move the tray must take gentle, careful handling I did not have to be concerned with before. Overall, I’m not feeling too happy with this printer; but maybe when all the initial issues are ironed out I might get used to it.

This is the best printer I’ve ever owned. The ink lasts practically forever, the replacement ink cartridges are relatively inexpensive, and the print quality is superb. The printer set up was a breeze. I can print wirelessly from any device in my house, including my iPhones. The printer is quick, quiet, and the print quality is excellent. The user interface is so easy to use. Why does HP even bother to make printers anymore? This printer runs rings around the HP’s, Canons, & Epsons that I’ve owned in the past. This printer is a workhorse. OK, one think they could improve is to put a larger paper tray on the printer. Otherwise, it is INCREDIBLE!!

This is a great machine. It was simple to set up and communicated wirelessy immediately. I love the extra large ink tanks and the fact they can be changed from the front without opening any more of the machine.

The cost was good. I am not very knowledgeable about using the features. Have not been able to print from my iphone

I bought this just before the work from home kicked in with the intention of it being for personal use. It has since stepped up to be my work printer and scanner. I hold a VP title so I want my work to look good and with this printer and scanner I have not been disappointed. Takes a bit of time to load the printer software on my computers, but that turned out to be time well spent.

We purchased the MFC-J995DWXL to replace a previous brother model. It is smaller and more compact. Its easier to use.

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The product is an all in one printer. It was extremely easy to assemble. It has a nice color (white) that makes it look modern. Very easy to use and effective. Printer prints great, copy scanner and fax is al fast and amazing. I would rate this printer an 8. I would definitely recommend this product.

Excellent printer. Very easy to use, excellent color, very efficient and reliable. On letter size paper, it is a good solid performer. I had expected it to automatically duplex both letter and legal paper, but found out that this printer will not automatically duplex legal size. I have the wide format version of this printer, which does do the legal size duplex. On the J995DW, printing the back side on legal is very easy. You just take the stack off the printer after doing the first side, and set it back in the paper tray just the way you pick it up. Then print the second side. Also, Brother’s tech support is excellent.

The best printer of several brands I have owned, it simply gets the job done for me.

This is my second time purchasing the same printer, I obviously like it very much
Lowell Stamm (verified owner) –
I like this printer very much. It is quick enough to please all on both black and white and color. I do wish the display was just a little bigger, but it gets the job done.
Luna Keebler (verified owner) –
Whole lot better than HP in everyway. Should have purchased a long time ago
Janelle Hoeger (verified owner) –
works much better than the popular brand I just threw away.
Melyna Gusikowski (verified owner) –
Really love the printing – haven’t tried photos yet, but regular printing is great. It flips the page well and without a problem. The paper tray is way too small and that extender to receive the printed page doesn’t seem sturdy enough.

This is an amazing product that allows me to function and multitask in the privacy of my home. The features are excellent the ink lasts longer than my old machine.
