With enough ink to print for up to one year included in the box, this MFC-J995DW All-In-One Inkjet Printer from Brother is ready to satisfy your printing, copying, scanning, and faxing needs for the home or office. With print resolutions up to 6000 x 1200 dpi, documents and graphics are crisp and clear on pages as large as 8.5 x 14″. Copying and scanning is possible via the flatbed CIS scanner. The unit also has faxing capabilities that can store 180 pages in its memory and transfer files at speeds of 14.4 kb/s. Additionally, the printer lets you wirelessly print from a desktop, laptop, smartphone, and tablet via NFC and Wi-Fi.

The features are easy to use, although I probably have not used all of them yet. The ink for a year, that depends upon just how much you print. It is really nice to have bigger tanks. The printing is very crisp and clear. I love the fact that you can print double side without any moving of the paper to complete the process, Genius! I am really happy with this printer at this time!

The specifications stated that the printer could feed up to 58 lb. “inkjet paper”. I called support to verify this before I bought. They did, and the machine could not feed the 52 lb. double sided matte paper I was using for my project. This was a disappointment but it might have been due to miscommunication. Another disappointment was during my 425 page project, I needed to replace the cyan, magenta, and yellow tanks when the machine was advertised not to need replacement ink for one year. This was probably due to the matte paper finish which takes more ink. Otherwise, the machine has performed better than printers I have had from the other three major manufacturers. For general printing, I would recommend it.

Lots to like, only one soft criticism: Love the ability to scan directly to a MULTI-page PDF using either the feeder or single sheet at at time manual scanning. Prints have been plenty clear and crisp for my needs. Love using the feeder, never had one before. Like fact that the cover over the scanning bed has hinges that flex to allow a fatter book on the bed. Only criticsm: I swap out different paper quite a bit. Each time I struggle with the paper tray, both extracting it and especially when trying to get it back in. But in spite of that, overall, I really like this printer.

When my old printer died in February, I did a lot of research online for about three days before choosing this INKvestment Tank by Brother. Now it’s late April, and the printer has worked beautifully every single day with not a single problem. I love the consistent quality of my printed documents, and the ease of use. Everything is easy to do, whether it’s duplex (two-sided) printing or using the scanner. Best of all, I won’t have to worry about shopping for replacement ink cartridges any time soon because this printer holds SO much. This is the perfect machine for my small business as well as for personal use. It does everything I dream of, and then some.

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. Overall unpacking was very easy (I was actually surprised by it`s compact size expecting a much bigger printer/scanner) and so was the assembly (nothing to assemble!) which really all it was following the instructions in the quick guide included in the box. Installing the ink cartridges was really easy, as well as connecting the AC power adapter, and the wifi setup was also very simple and easy. I was up and printing within 10 minutes. Also I was able to install the software easily for my MAC operating system easily as well so that was great. Score: AFor an “all-in-one” it`s a rather fast and effective printer. Also I love that it has the feature to print front/back and you can auto pre-select that option before printing thus saving more paper. I checked the printer levels today after using the printer for over 2+ wks now and having printed 10 pages/day or so and was surprised to see that the ink levels have barely moved from the top. I`m impressed that ink levels are still at nearly 90%!! This means that the claim that cartridges should last a year does seem true at least from my experience so far and of course everyone`s experience will be different. Also copying multiple pages using the automatic document feeder is easy for printing (but can be complex for scanning which I`ll touch on below). Printing/copying+ink=A++Wi-fi setup and printing from iphone is a breeze. Similarly once the printer is setup to your wireless router and any mobile device can detect the printer on the network then you`re able to very easily print from your mobile device. I use this a lot because if I receive an email and don`t want to turn on my laptop then this works very effectively for me as I can easily just print from my phone. Wifi=A+Other great features: include the simple-to-use touchscreen that is small, but still makes it easy to navigate through. Also there are “apps” which you can choose to install ranging from templates for print, i,e. Forms, to support for cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. It also comes with two slots for USB flash drives and MicroSD cards which i don`t have much need for, but I`m sure is a huge plus for people that love to print pictures, for example, or save documents on USB drives. The Brother all-in-one also doubles up as Fax machine if needed. “A” mainly for addition of apps and ease-of-use like being able to create “shortcuts” on touchscreen for frequent uses/commands. While I pretty much love/like most of the features I`ve been using on a daily basis scanning has been frustrating to use. Don`t get me wrong: its scanning capabilities are actually pretty good and the MAC Brother iPrint&Scan software you have to install to be able to perform/scan more difficult, long, or complex documents/photos etc works well enough and will do for most users. From past all-in-ones I`ve had I would say it`s on par with others. So you should be able to do most scanning rather easily depending on the size/length of the documents you are scanning – say any document that is one page up to 10-20 pages in length then it`s easy for that. Longer documents though could make it a bit more complex because I`ve yet to be able to figure out if the scanner can scan double-sided documents and sadly I don`t think it can. Secondly the most annoying/frustrating thing is the fact that you have to insert the documents face down into the automatic document feeder (ADF). Perhaps for some people this isn`t a huge issue and merely an annoyance and/or some are used to that anyways, but I`m used to always inserting documents for printing/scanning face/up rather than face-down. That said though the ADF works, really, really well! I`m not worried it will die out on me in a year or two even! Score of B here since scanning will take some time getting used to. Overall score I would give it is an “A”. It`s absolutely worth the investment +I`ve already seen that with how much $/time/space this Brother MFC will be saving me over next 2+yrs!

I replaced an older Brother print with the MFC-J995DW, and it is working excellently. Very easy to set up, I like the newer touchscreen. It is MUCH faster at printing, and the quality is improved – a few years does make a big difference! It costs a few dollars more, but the savings in Ink costs should outweigh the upfront cost differences.

The printer works good most of the time. It always has difficulty printing from a web page. It thinks about it for a long time then gives me a printer error. I have to copy web content to some other application and then print it. Frustrating.
