I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Brother MFC-J995DW XL printer works like a standard printer. The configurations are similar to common printers. The print quality and print speed was about average, though my internet connection, which doesn`t always travel well throughout my house, might have slowed the printing. The most standout feature was that it came with a two year ink supply. Overall, though, it works fairly flawlessly. It was easy and intuitive to setup and came largely fully assembled. The inkjets and the paper tray were the only things that needed to be attached, which can be easily inserted within a minute or two. The printer basically autonomously sets itself up and guides you through the manual needed settings like entering the Wi- Fi information. It comes with a CD which connects the printer wirelessly to your computer. The CD took a while to download the software and connect with the printer. The printer isn`t that tall which is problematic for seeing the small computer screen that operates the printer. The screen is angled flat and is on the side of the printer. It would be helpful if the screen was either angled upward or the screen was on top of the printer.

Great little printer for the price point, replaced a cannon pixma with this and it’s pretty compatible in features. Set up easily in our WiFi network and works well from both iPhones and iPads and laptops. The ink looks like it will last a while with normal usage. Would recommend to people looking for a cost effective printer

This scanner printer does a very good job and is reliable. The printing capabilities are all there: 8.5″ x 11″ documents as well as envelopes. You need to experiment a bit if you don’t follow instructions well, but for the most part the operation is intuitive. The ink cartridges unlike a certain competitor with a hyphenated name, don’t run out quickly. It is reasonably robust and compact. The supporting software is good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the scanner is only 300 x 300 which is somewhat limiting for scanning professional images.

Easines of set up and work related festures. A little bit fuzzy on the wi fi connection but software update fixed it. Still going on the printing, wife uses it daily. Wanted to buy another one but out of stock everywhere.

only issue I have it that the black ink print is a little light

While this is the first time for a Brother printer, I have gotten somewhat familiar with it an it seems to be a good product.

I like this printer from a print quality and cost efficiency point of view. I do have a couple of issues. I have to wake it up by clicking the ON button the first time I use it in the morning. (I do not turn it off when I leave for the day). My second peeve is that paper is not well supported when the printed page exits the printer. There is only a small box of plastic for those pages to land on. If you pull out the extension, the extension is up at a steep angle, which pitches the paper back at the next page coming out. Not good if you have over 10 pages to print at one time.

Did not have a disc drive so had to load drivers online…not too difficult….other than that, this is a good printer/scanner/copier for the price!

Everything is fine except the paper tray isn’t as convenient as my canon printers.

After dealing with many Hp inkjet and laser printers, I turned to Brother after my friend recommended them. I can say he was right, the Hp machine would shake the the computer desk for 3 to 4 minutes warming up before it would print anything. The brother is done before the Hp ever started.

So far printing is good. Trying to figure out how to scan multiple duplex pages into one PDF.

I can always be confident that this printer will work as or better than expected. Setup and use is intuitive and easy. It has great features and customizations.

My last ink jet printer was a disappointment; it was incredibly noisy and sucked down ink like a drunken sailor on shore leave; especially annoying was the way color ink disappeared even though I rarely printed in color. When researching a new printer I wanted one that appeared to have more frugal ink consumption, was quieter, did NOT have to be used wirelessly or constantly connected to the internet, and let me buy ink when I wanted to and didn’t try to coerce me into some subscription service I don’t want. This Brother printer checked all the boxes for me and thus far has been great. The only thing I wish it did was automatically deploy the little component that extends from the paper tray to support the printed pages; I forget to pull it out and the paper falls on the floor. Other than that so far this printer is a winner. Allegedly the ink lasts for a long time; we’ll see if that’s the case but I’m optimistic so far.

This is the best most versatile printer I’ve used and it looks good too!!

I love the quality of the printing. I would like to know, after the year, where is the best place to buy the ink again, and will it last for another year? Please advice. Thank you.

no matter how many times I clean the print head nozzles and correct the paper feed, there are gaps in every document. I’m an accountant and can’t produce client copies of documents on this printer.

I am very happy with it. Easy to use. Has all the functions I need for home use printer. I only wish the paper tray could hold more.

Easy set up, beautiful color, prints fast! Great value.

Once the wifi was set up I can print from any device. The last one had a fatal error. I called tech support and they sent a new one with fresh ink. Great product and service.
