With enough ink to print for up to two years included in the box, this MFC-J995DWXL All-In-One Inkjet Printer from Brother is ready to satisfy your printing, copying, scanning, and faxing needs for the home or office. With print resolutions up to 6000 x 1200 dpi, documents and graphics are crisp and clear on pages as large as 8.5 x 14″. Copying and scanning is possible via the flatbed CIS scanner. The unit also has faxing capabilities that can store 180 pages in its memory and transfer files at speeds of 14.4 kb/s. Additionally, the printer lets you wirelessly print from a desktop, laptop, smartphone, and tablet via NFC and Wi-Fi.

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. Received my Brother MFC-J995DW XL Printer quickly and installed/set it up just as fast. The instructions were clear and concise and this printer fits perfectly on my desk (next to laptop) and in my cabinet is I choose to hide it. For quick print jobs this printer has been just what I needed. Surprisingly it also does an excellent job with photo print jobs too. I was a bit skeptical at first but so glad I gave it a try.The only thing I would change about this printer is the color. It doesn`t seem the model is offered in the color Black, which is my preference.Overall, I would definitely recommend this printer for anyone in need of a compact all-in-one home printer (I do 100-300 pages per month).

I bought this printer just to see if there was a difference in the tank ink format vs. the cartridge format. Well there certainly is! This printer was bought to replace the HP I had for 8 years, It has all the features of a top quality office printer in a compact size that fits easily on my desk. It is extremely quiet, & prints quickly. I love that its document feeder holds over 25 pages, which can be used to scan, print & even fax! The print quality is crisp & clean. I also am very happy that it uses a reservoir for my ink, so I don’t have to replace cartridges so quickly as I did with the other ink jet printers. The ink cartridges are right in front, so they are easy to replace. The printer is very intuitive, since it has a touch screen with picture to operate the various features. I am so happy I bought this Brother all in one printer!

Excellent printer! The only reason I don’t give it five stars is that I print and then reuse second side of paper a lot of the time. When I pull the paper cartridge out, I need to close the small tray that keeps the printed copy from shooting out onto the floor. I don’t like the way the small tray folds. Would prefer it fold one time out and one time in. It’s a little flimsy and is a little of a pain. Brother makes a great printer and it was very easy to connect to all of my devices.

I love the features of the Brother J995. It is a great complement to my Brother Lazer Jet. The printing, scanning and copying are all easy. The initial wireless set up did not work requiring me to call their support team. They easily guided me through the install. If the on line instructions were clearer, I could have saved a call and some frustration. I strongly recommend that Brother make instructions and links to downloads clearer.

The printer works good most of the time. It always has difficulty printing from a web page. It thinks about it for a long time then gives me a printer error. I have to copy web content to some other application and then print it. Frustrating.

Purchased in 1Q 2019 to replace 10 year old Epson. The Brother hardware installation was easy, software, no so easy – had to install several times on Apple Macbook Pro to get all the features to work. Operation seems pretty good – wireless printing works well, scanning has a few kinks but is workable. Print quality on par, nothing great but nothing bad either. Time will tell if it is a good printer or not. Since it came with 1 years worth of ink we have not had to buy any yet. Like all printers there isn’t any gauge as to what your “actual mileage” is. If the printer turns out to be an ink hog my overall rating will go down.

This printer is a great printer; however, I have not set it up completely yet (fax, etc), only printing. Copies are great too, clear, fast. I am glad I made decision to get this one. A little noisy though when printing the first page.

I have owned several Brother printers over the years. The MFC-J995DW offers decent print quality and features for the money. Unfortunately, Brother has chosen to make the printer’s firmware closed. You cannot use a browser to change printer settings like in the older Brother printers. Also, since the firmware is closed, you cannot use your browser to start a scan. Yes, I know you can start a scan from the little 2 inch screen on the front of the printer, but that process is tedious. Please bring back browser access to the printer’s features and functions.

Overall it has worked well except a few issues. The top tray roller seems to be making an odd noise (first week using it, it started) and things are getting stuck because of it. Not sure why but it is making it difficult to use the top tray as frequently as desired.

Took a bit to install. Need to be careful you are on the right website. I learned that I sometimes have to restart my computer in order for it to print. It is reliable and prints fast. Not stressing about ink is a plus. I also enjoy the Brother creativity website. I was easily able to run card stock through the printer.
