With enough ink to print for up to two years included in the box, this MFC-J995DWXL All-In-One Inkjet Printer from Brother is ready to satisfy your printing, copying, scanning, and faxing needs for the home or office. With print resolutions up to 6000 x 1200 dpi, documents and graphics are crisp and clear on pages as large as 8.5 x 14″. Copying and scanning is possible via the flatbed CIS scanner. The unit also has faxing capabilities that can store 180 pages in its memory and transfer files at speeds of 14.4 kb/s. Additionally, the printer lets you wirelessly print from a desktop, laptop, smartphone, and tablet via NFC and Wi-Fi.

There are so many things I like about this printer besides the beautiful printing & scanning it does. I had an HP printer that lasted for 16 years. A 30 cent plastic part broke and ended its life. I did not think another printer could be better than that. One thing I like about the Brother MFC-J995DW printer is that I leave it on all the time. It goes into idle mode until I print or scan. I am hoping I will not be annoyed by “ink expired” messages like I was with the H.P. I did need a little experience to fully understand the menu choices, I have mostly figured them out.

This is my first Brother printer and so far I am very pleased with it’s performance. I’ve scanned a lot of documents and the paper feeds very well without any assistance. The Inkvestment tanks are much better than the small cartridges of my previous printer which would dry out and be useless after a month of no use. Most of my printing is on plain paper – single and double side perform well. The only area for improvement would be in the scanning software to be able to crop images (maybe it exists but I haven’t found it) before saving the file. Overall a great all-in-one printer for home.

We purchased this printer for an office environment. While there is nothing technically wrong with this printer it is extremely slow. It also makes sounds like it’s dying while printing. It’s given us a few laughs! Probably great for a home printer but is not suitable for an office environment.

The printer was fairly easy to hook up. It does have a peculiar soft “roar” when it prints. The sound is pretty strange since we live in the mountains with a lot of wildlife so in the beginning I kept thinking it was something just outside my office window I needed to be aware of, LOL.

I have the Hallmark card software on my computer and unable to use the Hallmark card stock in the printer for double sized — it will printer double side on plain paper but not the card stock. Greeting cards are not as effective on paper. For my personal use I’m very disappointed.

Everything about this all in one is top of the line. You can fine tune the printing for your most intricate photos or you can dial it back for every day draft quality documents. The scanning is just plain ‘easy’. The faxing works bullet proof as well. I replaced a top of the line commercial HP machine with this Brother J995DW and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Bought it for two reasons. 1. Physical form factor (had to sit on a narrow shelf), and 2. larger ink supply. Having the AC cord come out the side was a big plus. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars, was that when the lid is fully raised, it encroaches on the back verticle panel of the shelf. So, it had to be pulled forward about an inch.

I replaced an older Brother print with the MFC-J995DW, and it is working excellently. Very easy to set up, I like the newer touchscreen. It is MUCH faster at printing, and the quality is improved – a few years does make a big difference! It costs a few dollars more, but the savings in Ink costs should outweigh the upfront cost differences.
