Along with these capabilities, the printer features a two-line monochrome LCD for checking current status and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with support for direct mobile printing. So far the printer is working well. I am able to scan documents and print work from my computer. I am not using the fax mode. the problem I have is that the fax mode is the default and every time I go to make copies I have to change the mode to copy even if I had just made copies a few minutes before. I find it annoying that I cannot change the default mode to copy since I do not use it for faxing at all. Another feature I wish it had was the ability add a few sheets of different paper with out having to change over the whole tray. I go from using 8 1/2 x 11 to 8 1/2 x 14 frequently and it is annoying to have to changes the whole tray each time. They do have a slot where you can submit one sheet of different paper at a time, but the reports I run are more than one page. I third frustration was that the printer didn’t come with a manual. I tried to look it up online and failed to reach the proper site. After spending hours trying to find what I was looking for, I gave up.

This is a great value for the money, the toner cartridges are not that expensive. I expect this will last a long time, my last Brother laser printer(only) lasted 10 years. The front panel controls have been improved since we bought one of these a couple of years ago, the controls are easier to use and the screen lights up so you can see it easier. The automatic duplex is a bonus! The only thing I think could be improved is when you use the flat bed to scan or copy, the cover wants to snap down and makes it hard to position small pieces of paper. I bought it to also scan newspaper clippings, which are not always flat. Other than that, I love it and the scanning software is easy to use.

I needed to replace a Canon dot matrix printer which Canon no longer supported. I only needed black and white, so I switched to a laser printer, which was faster and easier to work with. I read a lot of laser printer reviews and none of the printers made out too well, including this one. But it turned out I did not encounter any problems at all with it. It linked over the network easily, It automatically allowed my phones and other devices to print to it (the printer name just appears magically on the phone when you go to print something, for example). Even the fax facility worked. I’m quite pleased so far

I found that it was very easy to configure/set up. WIFI works fantastic. I can be at both ends of the house on laptop and print with ease. I would recommend this printer to all people that are looking at it, and DEFINITELY if you want to USE WIFI. It comes with starter toner, but I replaced it with the high volume toner and it will last for at least 3000 pages.

Since I’ve been working from home, I needed a printers that would do double-sided printing, scanning and copying like the Epson Workforce model at my office. The online descriptions for this product do not make clear that the ONLY double-sided function this Brother product has is printing. Yet it cost more than the old office Workforce multi. I am hoping the price difference will be justified by lighter ink usage, but it’s too soon to tell. After two months the toner cartridge that came with the printer is already gone; we’ll see how long the replacement one lasts-I’m hoping it comes with more ink than they give you in the box.

This is my third Brother printer the others lasted about 5 years each and I expect this one to also. The print quality is better than I have had on the others and it does and excellent job on two sided printing. It’s the reason that I stick with Bother printers, quality and price can’t be matched.

This b&w printer works well for me – like all of us I strive to reduce paper use as much as possible, but this printer is great when I need to print out something to edit or read. The scanner works great too. High quality at a reasonable price – many of the ink jet printers seem to be made entirely of plastic and the cartridges run out of ink so quickly. Glad the IT person at the nonprofit I work with recommended this printer.
