Along with these capabilities, the printer features a two-line monochrome LCD for checking current status and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with support for direct mobile printing. Additionally, it has USB 2.0 and Ethernet connections for wired configurations.

Set up was easy but you gotta read the entire instructions before getting started. It’s a good printer for home use and works great with my Mac, just need to install for my MacBook Pro. I haven’t tried to print with my iPhone yet but I’m sure it will work great too. Good investment and the great price too.

All my printouts have a small recurring blotch (white area, no ink) on them. Possibly this is from the drum as I have already gone through a couple of toner cartridges and the blotch remains. The blotch occurs 3 or so times on an letter size print out.

A determined printer, excellent scanner… haven’t bothered with the Fax option (I know there are companies that still use facsimile, but it’s rare). Keep away from liquids and friable particulates and this machine will last ages. Learn about reset/cheat codes and your toner will last, too. Programmable functions are great for 1- and 2-step scanning for regular use. Very good resolution/clarity. DO NOT USE HEAVY CARD STOCK in the tray – you’ll need to load from the front, which can be tedious on larger jobs, but it’s better than frequent jamming with heavier paper. Other than that – a great unit for the price-point.

This is my second version of the same basic printer, and it’s also proven to be good. It took a while to get the software properly loaded and working on a new PC with Windows 10 Pro. Print output is good, and it’s greatly appreciated that Brother does not stymie the use of of quality aftermarket toner cartridges with sophisticated chips, like some printer companies do.
