Along with these capabilities, the printer features a two-line monochrome LCD for checking current status and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with support for direct mobile printing. Additionally, it has USB 2.0 and Ethernet connections for wired configurations.

The 2710 has been a workhorse for us, not only for output, but a significantly fast and high resolution scanner. While later models have the ability to automatically flip two-sided originals, software compensates for use with autofeeder documents. Output speed is impressive; the quality superb. Networking is never easier at any level. I am just not able to download PaperPort; some kind of software issue. This is my fourth Brother printer. I have stayed with Brother due to the economy and quality of the output, for both color and black and white. Their laser printer engines are some of the best in the industry, and I have recommended multiple color inkjet printers to clients for home use due to their new larger capacity and block ink models. I have researched their new printers available in multiple industries from rubber stamps to direct to fabric industrial workhorses. My first computer was an Apple ][+. I have personally watched the computing and computer graphics industries literally grow before my eyes, and Brother has always been a part of most every solution and phase. They stand behind their products, and provide exceptional support. I would definitely recommend a Brother product.

I purchased for my classroom. The only issue I have is you have to shut it down after every use or it goes into sleep mode and sets the machine to fax only. As a teacher have access to the printer at all times is important, so when I have to shut it off and turn it on again takes precious time.

It would be good if I could by pass the default permanently so that I would not have to set the machine for single side printing each time. There are times I want double side printing but it would be ok with me if the double side was the option rather than the default
