The Brother QL-800 High-Speed Professional Label Printer allows you to print black and red labels using DK-2251 or cost-effective paper labels for packages, envelopes, file folders, name badges, postage, and more. It can print up to 93 standard address labels per minute, with black text at 300 dpi. An auto cutter allows for printing one or multiple labels at a time, eliminating wasted label sheets.
The "Plug & Label" feature supports quick label printing of basic labels, which does not require software installation for Windows computers. The P-touch Editor software for Windows and Mac lets you customize your labels. You can also print from Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. When using genuine Brother DK drop-in rolls, you do not need ink or toner.

I use the printer for file labels and address labels. I don’t do a huge volume, but I need a few new ones every week. This label printer works great for me. It’s always ready. I do agree that on occasion the software will reject the red/black paper, but once you have your templates set up, it’s not really an issue. I wish I had purchased the version that holds 2 different sizes of paper, that would have been best for me, but this is still ok. Paper is not difficult to change or load.

Excellent assistant to get your labels professionally designed and printed.

So this printer, for the price, is really handy to have. The red/black labels are nice, but keep in mind only one label size exists and it is rather expensive. But the good part, this printer works with the older black and white labels as well. Now the bad part, the included P-touch editor is bad, had to understand, and always take much longer to use than it should.

My only complaint doesn’t sound big, except in my circumstances. The closest I can put it is about 3 feet away to the power button. Since this device turns itself off when I put the computer in sleep mode it turns itself off. It is very hard to reach the power button without an extension device, like a 2 foot long dowel. Is there any way to leave it on? My previous label printer (Seiko 450) lasted over 10 years and it stayed on 24-7.

This is the worst experience that I have had. Its not easy to get set up, let alone to print.

I purchased the QL-800 about a month ago. Love it! It prints very fast with no ink cartridge ever needed. Love the way it cuts the label off nicely. My only gripe is I wish it printed address labels smaller.

Love this printer. I use it for my business to mail out orders. It is quick and easy to use and I love the label auto-cutter option! Much better than printing mailing labels on my inkjet and having to cut and tape them on to packages.

the red and black paper sometimes is rejected in the express print software. even when you switch to red and black mode. it seems to work better in “professional mode” But i’m happy with the printer’s performance, just software is kind of difficult.

I like it a lot. I do need to order smaller address labels and I do need to try to figure out how to use the software. Adding icons has not been so easy. I still love it though 🙂
