This black aluminum keyboard is designed to fit onto Surface Pro 7, 6, 5, and 4 tablet computers with an adjustable 180° hinge and a wireless Bluetooth 5.0 connection that converts the device into a laptop for fast typing and touchpad control. For added convenience, the lightweight keyboard features three levels of backlighting to increase visibility in darkened environments. Using the keyboard with the backlight on provides about 40 hours of battery life, and it can be recharged through the USB Type-C port using the included cable. The keyboard doubles as a slim protective cover, allowing you to quickly pack up your Surface Pro when traveling.

Short version: After nearly two weeks or use can confirm that this is a massive upgrade to my already awesome Surface Pro 2017. Great key travel, balance between keyboard portion and tablet. Checks all the boxes for being a laptop-ish. Long: I love my Surface Pro and the tech flex it has as my daily driver. However over the past couple of years found the kickstand increasingly difficult to simply sit on my lap in various situations (just as designed with kickstand.) So of course The Google was my first place to query a solution that might exists to make the Surface more lap friendly. After looking up alternatives to the already great Alcantara Surface POGO keyboard, discovered Brydge shortly after they announced an “updated” version of its first keyboard iteration. So I signed up for the pre-orders and received it recently. At first I loved it and after two weeks can confirm it wasn’t just unboxing buzz, but this is a legit piece of hardware. Kudos to the Brydge team as I feel this checks all the boxes. – Key travel is great! A bit better than the POGO keyboard. Solid – trackpad is roughly the same as the POGO keayboard which is great. – Solid and sturdy build – Lit keys – Keyboard size very similar to POGO – Hinges are rock solid, secure and easy to insert/move the Surface freely To be aware of – Heavier than expected, but makes sense as to compliment the top heavy Surface. So it does keep balance very well and doesnt tip over – Aesthetics add additional thickness to overall footprint, but still very thin

Battery life is nowhere near the six months that they claim with normal use. My units battery lasts 3 to 5 days at best. Are use it less than one hour combined daily. It is a great keyboard, however, I also have trouble keeping it connected to my surface via Bluetooth. Many times I have to turn Bluetooth off and back

The Brydge 12.3 Pro+ keyboard for the Surface Pro is a must-have. First, no more hollow-sounding tapping when typing, it’s quiet. Can’t tell you how many meeting where we have a large group of Surface Pro users and the sound of typing is annoying. Solid built, good feedback when typing, and the mount, at first I was skeptical, holds the Pro very well. Now the Surface Pro can be a real laptop when in use and no tabletop or desk around. The backlight is decent, though I have not had it long enough to test the life of the battery.

Once you use the Brydge a couple of times it becomes a seamless part of the Surface Pro. Finally, I can work on small airplane trays without the Surface falling down and more importantly, I can work in a reclining position in bed or on the beach during quarantine. I wish it was lighter and would be okay charging it more often in trade, but the long, long battery life will pay off.

Keyboard is great. Cord to charge it is too short, didn’t come with a charging brick and isn’t a regular USB. Improvements could be to make the cord longer, include the brick. At the least, make it a USB for ease of charging.

This is my second Brydge keyboard and I absolutely love it. I’ve used them on a Surface Pro 3 and now a Surface Pro 7 – so much better than the MS Surface keyboard. I’m participating in the BETA program and was given the opportunity to try out the new Brydge 12.3 Pro keyboard. The touch/feel of the keys is great, back lighting is nice, etc. I like this style of keyboard particularly because it makes my Surface into a laptop and easy to use on the go.
