Great product, just as advertised! Converts your Surface Pro into a laptop but gives you the freedom to still use it as a tablet.

I got to try out the new Brydge 12.3 Pro+ as part of their beta program. The Brydge keyboard addressed all my needs as an artist and videographer. Since it’s wireless, I can place the keyboard to the side so I can access the quick keys when drawing or easily prop up the tablet to bring the display to eye level for editing video. The build quality is superb and matches almost perfectly with the Surface Pro. The keyboard has metal construction that feels solid without being too heavy. The typing experience is better than most third party keyboards and on par with the major manufacturers. The keys have good travel without being too noisy. Backlighting has three levels of brightness. Unfortunately the only color is cool white. The backlight will time out pretty quickly when not typing, even if you’re actively using the touchpad. The Bluetooth 5.0 connection was easy to setup and connect quickly after sleeping. The bigger and better touchpad works as expected. All the gestures functions flawlessly. USB-C is another welcome addition, particularly for the SP7, which finally get a USB-C as well so everything can be charged with the same cable. One major concern from some users is light bleed from the pressure of the hinges. I notice a little bit of this when opening and closing but it seems minor enough that I’m not terribly concern. I will update if it becomes an issue over time. There is some flexibility in the hinge so you may be able toloosen or tighten a little if necessary. Any aforementioned issues is just me nitpicking (and I’m very picky). Overall, this combination is almost perfect. It allows for proper ergonomics in the office and lapability when I’m on the go. I am finally satisfied with my setup.

Broke the pixels in my Surface Pro not even 24 hours after I got the keyboard. My Surface Pro is completely unusable. I’m furious.

First off I am part of the beta program and got to trial the product. However I have been using Brydge products for several years now. The larger touchpad and it’s controls are amazing! The product fits my surface pro 7 perfectly. I got the black one and it matches and looks wonderful, the product is sturdy, battery life is great, the keyboard feel is high quality and professional. I work in IT so I am typing or clicking on something ALL DAY long, and this product can keep up with me easily!

I am a Mac lover at heart, but I have to use PCs for work. I have a Surface, but it’s ‘lapability’ was lacking with the type cover keyboard. I was ready to give it up and then I saw that Brydge had added a Surface line so I ordered it. I am beyond thrilled-in fact, I’m gifting the type cover to my nephew who has a Surface without a keyboard. This makes the Surface a perfect device for me. It does add weight, but to get the quality it’s a negative I will accept. Besides which, the weight is integral in keeping the thing from tipping. Key travel is good, and most important key placement is the same as on my desktop computer. I have had several 3rd party keyboards over the years for tablet devices, and in countless cases, they swap out the positioning of keys on the right hand side especially to save space. That is a deal breaker right there, because I buy the keyboards for efficiency and making my devices more useful all around, and having to relearn key positioning based on the device is wasted time. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who is a serious Surface user and needs to use it on various surfaces which may or may not be appropriate for the MS Type keyboard. Good job.

Works very well and the touchpad is a great improvement from earlier models. There are only a couple of things, the touchpad doesn’t work well with the setting to disable touchpad when mouse is connected. It is easy enough to turn off, just the only reason I didn’t give five stars. Great product.

I have been using the Brydge 12.3 Pro+ for about two weeks now and I couldn’t be happier with it. Since I started COVID-work-from-home, I have been using my Surface Pro 6 on a lap desk. The “kickstand” made it difficult to position the setup. I pre-ordered the Brydge keyboard on the strength of the reviews of the other products that Brydge makes because I had no knowledge of them. Pros: * My surface setup fits easily on the lap desk * The Brydge 12.3 is easy to set up – straightforward Bluetooth, connected the first time, no issues * It is very solid. It weighs more than the Surface keyboard, of course, but it feels like a solid piece of aluminum * It isn’t too heavy, though. I’d not think twice about carrying it on the train to “real work” * 4 levels of keyboard backlighting, 0 – bright * Auto sleep and wake of both the keyboard and my Surface * I use it for all of my 8-hour workday. Charged it 7 days ago and it has a 63% charge right now. Granted, I am sub-arctic, so I don’t need to use the backlight all the time, but still 🙂 * The keys are perfect, just the right feel Cons: I can’t think of any Cons. I was worried that I would think the price too high, but now that I have it and have used it, I don’t think so. It is a quality piece of hardware.

I love my Surface and the Brydge only increases this. First thing you notice when you take it from the box is the weight of it, this is a solid piece of kit that fits snuggly and perfectly to the surface. Next is the “made for it” feeling it gives you. The keyboard responsiveness is great, the back lights let you know you are using something special. The biggest upgrade it gives you is the trackpad, after weeks of use I’ve found this precise and makes an impressive difference to the standard surface cover trackpad. If you are stuck between a standard laptop and a surface, this is the accessory that will help you choose a surface.

I’ve used Brydge keyboards since their very first release, for iPad and Surface devices. When they asked if I’d like to beta test their newest product, I jumped at the chance. The experience has been amazing! You can tell that Brydge has listened to it’s loyal customers over the years, refining the newest generation and innovating with each new product. I may sound like a fanboy, but my enthusiasm is warranted. The previous version for the Surface Pro had it’s shortcomings…one in particular in which the hinge could cause pressure and in rare cases crack the screen of your device. They have redesigned this new version and it is plain to see that our voices were heard! I will use this one without hesitation on my Surface Pro 7. Well done Brydge!

The Brydge 12.3 Pro+ keyboard is amazing compared to the ones Microsoft offers for the Surface computers. It has an unbelievable tactile feedback for a keyboard of this thickness. I can actually type on it with very few errors. Just be aware that it is still no substitute for a full sized keyboard, but they are not really very portable. I also have an older Lenovo T460 laptop which has a very nice keyboard for a laptop. The 12.3 Pro+ seems to have slightly less key travel than the Lenovo T460 keyboard, but this is not a significant problem for me. The 12.3 Pro+ keyboard is so much better than the Microsoft ones. The only other slight drawback for me is I would have appreciated if it had sculptured key caps. This is a very nice feature if you really type very much.

Works great just as expected – it’s a game changer for my surface pro and how I use it. Would definitely recommend!

I should have bought this sooner! I love how my surface pro now functions like a laptop and i dont have to rely on the flimsy backing for it to stand upright when im using it in bed. Best investment

Battery does not charge. Device is more or less useless unless plugged into power

Typing is smooth, connection is seemless. Good buy, I feel it’s sturdier than the type keyboard.

This is the best keyboard, specifically for my Microsoft Surface Pro. The kickstand on the Surface Pro is not stable and will eventually break. The Brydge keyboard fits perfectly and is very stable. I can now write on the screen without fear of the screen moving. No more trying to adjust that kickstand for that perfect viewing angle. Brydge is stable at any angle. Thanks!!!

This device has transformed my Surface into a more versatile laptop when needed. No more balancing act required when trying to use the kickstand sitting on the airplane, couch or in bed.

I am very happy with my 12.3 Pro+. If I had a complaint about the Surface Pro 7 (other than battery life…will save that for another time) it would be that there are times when I want to use it on my lap. Sitting at an airport, I like to be able to have a standard laptop. The kickstand thing was always cumbersome when trying to do that. The Brydge is perfect. It holds the Surface perfectly…there’s nothing loose about it. The hinges are super solid. It really is the perfect addition to make the Surface the perfect all-around device. I’ve never had it not connect…it’s seamless. Battery life seems good, but I often charge the Surface with a USB-C cable anyway, so I just move it over to the keyboard every once in a while. Top notch product all around!

I was lucky enough to be selected for the beta test group for the +. Having recently moved to a company which uses surface pros – I’ve been a iPad Pro user for years with a Brydge keyboard of course! – I was struggling with the flimsy keyboard which only supported working where a table was available; not always the case on London commuter trains! The + keyboard is awesome! The typing and touchpad experience is typical Brydge – high quality and responsive. The backlit keys are a huge bonus for the +. I own its predecessor and the lack of this function really inhibited the environments I could work in – not great when you are trying to fit family life around work. All in all I love the product and sits proud alongside my Apple Brydge collection!

Fantastic device. My career requires me to out in the field for 12 hours. Using the surface pro 7 on unconventional surfaces (hoods of vehicles, car dashes, and small ledges) always was a challenge. Totally transforms the device. Would buy again!
