I have been getting annoyed with the Surface-type cover because it’s so flimsy, I also wanted to use my Surface Pro 7 as a laptop (even though it’s mainly a tablet). I have seen a lot of good reviews about this product and decided to try it out. I have heard that the keyboard might break your screen after some time which made me nervous. I finally got it and I will say I LOVE it. It’s really sturdy so I don’t feel like my tablet will fall out, the keyboard is heavy to balance between the two. The battery so far is pretty good, has not run out of battery. The backlit keys are great, they are useful and do work. All in all, this feels like a laptop but I can still use my Surface Pro as a tablet, I have not gotten any cracks so my screen is undamaged. I am really happy I got this purchase and wish I got this sooner.

I have been using the Brydge 12.3 Pro+ for about two weeks now and I couldn’t be happier with it. Since I started COVID-work-from-home, I have been using my Surface Pro 6 on a lap desk. The “kickstand” made it difficult to position the setup. I pre-ordered the Brydge keyboard on the strength of the reviews of the other products that Brydge makes because I had no knowledge of them. Pros: * My surface setup fits easily on the lap desk * The Brydge 12.3 is easy to set up – straightforward Bluetooth, connected the first time, no issues * It is very solid. It weighs more than the Surface keyboard, of course, but it feels like a solid piece of aluminum * It isn’t too heavy, though. I’d not think twice about carrying it on the train to “real work” * 4 levels of keyboard backlighting, 0 – bright * Auto sleep and wake of both the keyboard and my Surface * I use it for all of my 8-hour workday. Charged it 7 days ago and it has a 63% charge right now. Granted, I am sub-arctic, so I don’t need to use the backlight all the time, but still 🙂 * The keys are perfect, just the right feel Cons: I can’t think of any Cons. I was worried that I would think the price too high, but now that I have it and have used it, I don’t think so. It is a quality piece of hardware.

As an owner of both the old and new keyboards, I can state the Pro is an improvement. Better tactile feel to the keys, a little lighter, & better design, especially the touch pad. A real positive is the ability to charge directly from the Surface Pro 7. A minor negative is the black case shows smudges and fingerprints on the back.

This keyboard transforms the way you use the Surface Pro 7. Firstly, the keyboard clicks feel amazing, the touchpad (which is bigger) is great! Feels like a smooth glass. The biggest vantage I would say, is not having to use the kickstand every time I wish to use the Surface as a laptop, instead of a tablet. I can use it in bed, on the go, sofas, etc. And, when I want to use it as a tablet, they keyboard can be removed and bam! All in all, I would 100% recommend this product for anyone owning a Surface Pro series.

Ok like my other review said, this keyboard works great and feels great to type on. The trackpad did NOT break but I was hitting Ctrl+Alt to try to turn it on rather than Fn+Alt. But anyway now I can review their support too! It’s great! So quick, so clear. Buy this product.

The biggest frustration you’ve probably faced with a Surface Pro is trying to recreate the laptop experience. The kickstand makes the footprint too large and with the surface signature keyboard, it isn’t stable or really suitable for working on your lap. The Brydge keyboard changes everything and I now have a fully functioning laptop, with fast responsive multi-touch gestures and a subtle but welcome backlight. When docked in the Brydge, the Surface Pro is stable and the hinge feel very secure. I’ve no problem getting the viewing angle I want. In the hand it feels like a premium product and it’s lightweight so it’s no problem to take out and about. I’ve no hesitations in recommending this product for anyone wanting a better laptop experience from their Surface Pro.
