   I had an older MacBook Pro that was on its last legs and decided to try and replace it with an iPad 12.9 Pro. On it’s own, it wasn’t really practical, but with the new Brydge keyboard it’s a lot better than what I was expecting!! I’d read there were problems with latency on the mouse but I haven’t had any problems at all. I’d highly recommend this set up!!!

   I recently purchased/received the new Brydge Pro+ keyboard with integrated pad for use with the iPad Pro 12.9 (2020). I was hoping to get some initial problems resolved with Brydge support prior to posting a review, but, alas, that hasn’t happened. Seems Brydge support is so overwhelmed (or understaffed) that it takes 3-5 days for an email response. There seems to be very little documentation or suggested performance settings for the keyboard, leaving one to basically try/repeat suspected settings within iOS. The keyboard, overall, has a solid construction and appearance. The plastic lid cover furnished for the iPad Pro, however, needs a stronger magnet or another way to secure, as it is easily dislodged from the iPad. Functionally, the keyboard has several operational problems which need addressing to bring it up to par with expectations. First, the scrolling up/down action in several applications (Facebook, Instagram, email, etc) is very “jerky” and non-fluid. It seems to scroll up/down in small virtual page sizes instead of a smooth, continuous movement, as compared to the Apple Magic mousepad. Next, pinch/zoom and swipe left/right functionality is missing. This forces one to use the native iPad functionality to achieve these movements, somewhat negating the purpose of the integrated pad. Next, it seems that even though the keyboard is paired with the iPad Pro (2020), it loses the connection whenever the iPad sleeps. I’m forced to turn on the keyboard after the iPad is active before cursor movement is regained instead of being “awakened” by the iPad when it awakes. I’m hoping these problems will be quickly resolved with forthcoming firmware updates, but, at present, these make using the keyboard and pad somewhat aggravating, thus, supporting the two star rating. After the problems have been addressed, I will revisit this review to update.

   This is a HUGE improvement over the Apple Magic Keyboard. Great feel, feels like QUALITY in all regards. I really like the three brightness levels of the backlight. Pairs easily, has a great feel. Trackpad and function keys are a bonus. A little heavier than Apple, but not enough to matter, it is much more stable in all situations. I pondered this purchase for way to long. If you are considering a keyboard for your iPad, forget the Apple, it is way overpriced for what it is, feels cheesy as well.

    This is my second brydge keyboard. Both are awesome. Very easy to connect. Keep a charge for a weeks at a time and I use mine everyday. Would recommend easily! I also love the quality craftsmanship. Very solid and protect my iPad Pro.

    I am currently waiting for another keyboard to arrive; the first one I received had hinge issues. The iPad would not “close” over the keyboard without having to manual press the hinge which forced an audible “click” or ratcheting sound. Resolution of this issue has taken weeks. My prior iPad keyboard from Brydge had none of these issues. I take very good care of my tech and I like this product. If the replacement unit doesn’t exhibit the same behavior, I’ll happily update my score. If I receive another unit and I have to force click/close the iPad and put undue pressure on the hinges every time to get it to close properly, I will not recommend this unit until Brydge figures out the engineering issues.

    I bought this but then immediately returned it before they even confirmed shipping. I saw the YouTube videos saying the trackpads horrible and i wanted a good trackpad. Buy the cheaper Logitech one they released for the 11 inch iPad, or if you wanted to buy the Magic Keyboard but, don’t buy this product.

    This is my second Brydge keyboard – first one was with an earlier generation of IPad Pro – this new one with the track pad is an amazing upgrade – it is a terrific device – I thought it was pretty “high-priced” at first glance – but after unpackaging it and now using it – well worth the price – much more substantial than the earlier model – love it..

    Mouse icon doesn’t track very well – stopped using it. Back to touching the screen to open apps. Keyboard is very heavy and cumbersome! Honestly, wish I didn’t purchase it. I’d return it immediately if purchased at a store. Feel like I wasted my money. Not enjoying the experience at all.

    I received my Brydge Pro Plus about 10 days ago. Good product so far. Very sturdy! The track pad seems to be improving with time. I hope the firmware App will foster continued improvement. I did have to order replacement rubber shims for the hinges because one already looks like it is damaged. I’m rating it a 4.5, but I hope to change it to a 5 b

    I am very happy with my Brydge pro+. It runs very smoothly with my ipad. It connected quickly through bluetooth. The sensitivity with the mouse pad works very well. It feels like a laptop now and I use my ipad more than I did before. The back light in the keyboard is a nice touch if I use it at night.

    A little cumbersome in the beginning. Syncing is not automatic like the Apple keyboard, but for the difference in cost, its well worth the minor inconvenience. Good keyboard
