Could not have been easier to set up. Loved the software package. Again, easy to use and understand. Comes with raid already to go. If you are looking for a device to safely back up your important files, this is the one you want. Fast access as well.

Included mac raid software is old and poorly implemented. Doesnt include APFS format, which is needed for over 2TB sizes. I had to use the manual override to reformat back to NTFS. Because only OS X High Sierra and up support newer APFS, I ended up having to upgrade my OS, and then use native disk utility to finally get a 3TB RAID 1. Once set up is done, then it works great! This is my 3rd buffalo raid, and no issues with the other two.

I needed a redundant way to back-up my picture files. (I just had a hard drive fail) The Buffalo system does it automatically. I had a little trouble setting it up but a call to customer service took care of the problem. Their rep. talked me through the setup and it has worked as advertised.

I’ve had my Buffalo 4TB up and running for 2-weeks now and it functions as specified. Thanks B&H; your service was excellent!

This device is very helpful in performing backups. I have tried the BlackArmor from Seagate and have had performance issues and failures. This device has exceeded my expectations.

Purchased my first Buffalo as a Raid 1 storage drive for my photography around 2012. Had good luck with THAT one, so I decided on getting a 6 TB version of the same external drive set up on Raid1, as my older drive was a 4TB raid1 device giving me a net of 2TB of storage, and it was now FULL! So I’ve activated this new 6TB drive also on Raid 1, which gives me 3TB of new redundant and safe storage capability. I trust the reliability of these external drives!!

Easy to install on Mac. Long time to format drive-took 17 hours but works great. First one was defective, kept turning itself off, but B&H replaced it quickly and new one works great

I bought this through another retailer, but wanted to hop on and let everyone know that even though Windows 8 has some compatibility issues with some external hard drives (i.e. Hitachi/HGST) This unit is working flawlessly in Raid 1 mode on my Windows 8 system.
