I love the look of this clock. It works best with a light background so you can see the hands better. The middle piece looks black in the picture but is is only slightly darker than the rest of the clock. During the day there is no problem reading the time, but at night in a darkroom it is.

color of the central vertical bar looks dark in your sales pictures but it is not really that color, it is just barely darker than the frame. If it was darker it would be easier to read the clock
