The 7-Pin 180 1-Device Serial ATA Cable – 18″ from CablesToGo enables you to connect Serial ATA devices to your motherboard or host controller. Depending upon the peripherals used, you can get data transfer rates up to 6.0 Gbps! This cable is especially designed to handle the differential signals implemented in modern-day technology, while delivering increased throughput and minimized data packet loss.
Receive higher data transmission rates, reduced crosstalk, and better signal integrity. What’s more is this cable reduces overheating and conserves internal space within your CPU, for easy movement when adding or removing hard drives, PCI cards or other adapters. The SATA cable can reduce clutter, increase airflow and maximize your potential data transfer rate.

I needed a SATA data cable to add an additional internal hard drive to my PC. Cable was just the right length, connected right up with no interface issues, and the red color made distinguishing this cable from the cables going to my other SATA devices easy. At this price I decided to goa ahead and by two, ready for future system upgrades.

It seemed to work fine, but be aware that neither connector has a locking function, and one connector broke while I was ensuring it was properly seated. I’m experienced with connectors and cables of all kinds, and I was very surprised that it broke from such little pressure. I have since replaced this cable with a different brand and its connector did not break.
