Feels like a high quality knife set. Includes all the knives you need. A 3.5 in. paring knife, a 5 in. serrated utility knife, an 8 in. carving knife, an 8 in. chef’s knife, and an 8 in. bread knife. The blades are very sharp out of the box. The walnut block is eye catching. The walnut block has a nice finish. Should remain good looking for a long time. The Teak wood handles make the knives much lighter than the other full tang Cangshan knives I have. An important feature if holding a heavy blade will be a problem. Both styles have their purpose. The handles are more square than I would like. It affects the comfort a little but its a classic wooden handle shape so you may be familiar with it. My only complaint is the bread knife is shorter than I like. It is 8 inches, same size as the chef knife. Any longer and the knife would not fit in the block. Should work for the vast majority of bread loaves. Not sure if the hollow rivets are for visual effect or serve to keep the knife lighter.. I can see bits of food or debris getting into the holes and will be a nuisance to clean. Get a tiny round bottle brush or pipe cleaner to keep them clean.

This is a very good looking set of knives that is perfect for the home kitchen and would make a wonderful gift. The handles are teak and very attractive. They have a full metal tang as described on the website and the brass rivets, combined with the teak wood handle and steel blade and tang, make for a very attractive look. Care should be taken not to let the wooden handles soak in water-they are, after all, wood. The walnut block is also very good looking. This set adds class, IMO, to any counter top. These knives come VERY sharp out of the packing so care should be taken with them. Be aware that the teak handles are squared off so they are an excellent choice for those using a “pinch grip” in their cutting, slicing, etc. The longer knives have a slight flex towards the tip which makes for ease of cutting around bone, etc. I think they are a good value. I hope you find this helpful.

This is a great knife block set that comes with 5 knifes. The knifes are german forged steel and have a good weight to them. The steel goes all they way through the handle making for a sturdy knife. The rivets where the wood handle attaches to the steel are a stylish copper color. A unique feature with these rivets are they are hollow; usually the fasteners are solid and you can’t see through them. This is a nice nod to the holes in the knife block. The knife block is a beautiful wood with stylish holes carved into the sides so you can see all the way through it. It is a modern design element added to a traditional knife block.

The W Series Knife Block Set looks great in our kitchen. The walnut block stores five knives: paring, serrated and carving knives along with the chef’s and bread knives. It has a contemporary look with holes drilled on the sides. At first I thought that these would be a safety hazard but it is built in such a way that if your fingers are in the holes they never touch the sharp blades. The knives each have teak handles with the steel tang running the whole length of the knife. They are extremely sharp! As for cleaning, just be sure that they are dry before putting back in the block and they should never go in the dishwasher. After a while the oils from your hands will add to the beauty of the knives but you could also rub mineral oil into the wood.

I used these knives for about six weeks to see how they would hold-up before writing a review. They are as sharp todays as when they first arrived. This German steel is able to be sharpened to a extremely sharp edge and arrives just that way. Additionally this steel maintains the extremely sharp edge after repeat uses. So let’s get this part very clear: The German steel and the edge sharpness are incredible. The design, handle, weight, and balance of each knife in the set is also perfect. I love the feel of each knife and enjoy the ease of cutting EVERYTHING. The storage block is beautiful and looks great in the kitchen. Individually, you could easily pay the same for two of these knives as you will for this 6-piece set, so this 6-piece set with block is an incredible value. I highly recommend for personal use or as a gift for someone special.
