   No matter what the paper is….Canon or Red River, I always get wonderful results from my printer with Canon ink. It is so easy to get a real, professional photo at home for me or actual customer. Had to get individual tanks this time because the ink set is unavailable at this time.

   This is the low-end of the print/tank ratio. It might help with the longevity of prints, but I cannot even tell that it’s on the paper. Far overpriced for what it does and how much it is used.

   I’ve tried 3rd party inks in the past for this. They tend to clog the print heads, where the real Canon stuff will work fine. I’ll stay with Canon (even if it is over-priced and the printer seems to like to drink it.)

   After years of using only Epson printers, I finally took the advice pf one rep who told be “go for the Canon!”. So I did. The Canon P-1000. As far as I can tell, the inks do a beautiful job…and I have run some tests…I may even believe they are superior to the Epson prints! So, get the printer, and then get the inks from CANON!

    I always had Epson printers for my fine-art photography, but when my R2400 died, I replaced it with the Canon ProGraf Pro-1000 printer, which I love. It has a large set of inks as well as an ink cartridge that puts a clear coat on the image to protect it. The magenta works great on semi-gloss papers I use such as Ilford Gold Fibre Gloss and Canson Baryta Photographique II.

    There are cheaper option from China but I didn’t buy a Professional quality printer to use cheap inks. I want to deliver the best quality archival prints possible. This is the only choice (other than custom ink mixes) if you really care about your work in my opinion. It’s Just not about money.

    The CO coating apparently does something for longevity, but the printer pretty much demands it coat every print, completely. That makes it very expensive, for an unknown result. I’ve tried re-fill cartridges, but they tend to clog the print heads. Kind of stuck with the brand-name version.

    I typically order a full set of cartridges at once, but these singles are perfect for filling in those inks that run out more frequently than others. Shipped faster than expected, so I was never caught without ink during a production rush.
