I have never used any ink but Canon, and the results have always been flawless. When you spend the kind of money you do these days, to vist the locations you want to photograph, Why ruin your prints with inferior ink.

I use CL-8 inks (for Canon’s Pro 9000 Mark II) to print photographic art for exhibits, and have won awards with it, along with many compliments. This is top-notch for fine art work, but the black ink does have the rosy undertone that is common to dye-based black ink, so it would not be adequate where colors must be absolutely accurate. I have used cartridges that sat for over a year with no problem.
