I picked this up initially because of the special deals available through B&H and Canon which made it very affordable. My initial results with it are astounding. Even without any spectral calibration, the printer does a wonderful job of reproducing the images I have on my screen. Setup was easy, although I did have to download newer versions of the software to get it to work with the latest version of Apple OS, Lightroom and Photoshop. I made test prints of a color portrait out of a Nikon D800 from Lightroom, and was very pleased. Then I printed a landscape B&W image from inside PS and was simply blown away with the gradations reproducible with this printer. Just can’t praise it enough. Of course, like all printers, the ink will get you, but that’s the way it goes.

So far, I’ve been very pleased with the results that I’m getting while using this paper. I shoot mainly wildlife, and the details in bird’s feathers or an animal’s fur have been better than I had hoped. The few landscape images that I’ve printed have also been very good. However, I have nothing to compare this paper to, since it’s the only one that I’ve used so far. There may be other papers that will be better for some landscape images, but I’m very happy with the prints that I’ve made with this paper so far.

This paper came with a new Canon Pixma PRO-100. I like the results I get a lot. I’m fairly new to serious printing, and believe I will improve with practice, but even the initial results are very good compared to previous efforts, especially black and white. Paper finish is semi-glosss and exactly as I expected – half-way between glossy and matte. I think it is a very good balance between reducing glare and still providing detail and contrast. The only reason I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the paper is fairly thin and therefore must be handled carefully to avoid accidental creases. I have had prints made with thicker paper and prefer it for ease of handling, but considering the cost this is a very good paper indeed.
