The colors very rich and true. The print dries immediately and this particular finish is great for my type of Photographic artwork. It has a good weight and works beautifully with my Canon Pro-100 large format printer.

I use this 8×10 paper mostly for test prints before printing at a larger size (13×19 or 17×22) on a Canon Pro-1000 printer. I have never had any print quality issues. The main drawback is not with the paper but with Canon printer software. There are several functions for which Canon forces you to insert 8.5×11 paper, including test pages and pattern prints to check color and contrast. It would be nice to allow this 8×10 size as well so I could buy either 8×10 or 8.5×11 rather than having to stock both.

It’s ok but lacks the punch that the glossy delivers (to be expected from a semi vs gloss). I will say that for portraits it’s got a nice softness and a slightly greater tonal range than glossy can’t deliver.

The semi gloss paper has the Canon watermark at the back which gives the classic impression of a photo print. The semi gloss is also very pleasing to the eye with a nice sheen. The contrast on this paper is lovely.

I have tried some third party papers, but this is still my favorite for semi-gloss. I haven’t gotten used to using the color monkey yet and some of the 3rd party papers (notably Hahnemule) seem to have rather inaccurate profiles.
