It really is pretty easy to use if you’ve used office equipment before. Not sure of a function or using a different size paper or making a scan sharper or improving fax clarity, the 5 inch display makes it pretty easy to adjust.

No need for phone cable or any extra wires other than wall plug. Working fine with our phones and laptops. So far I loved it. Just bought it 2 weeks ago, I hope It will work fine in future too. So far loved it.

Scanner doesn’t work without 300 MB of software downloads. Worthless knowledgebase, no decent support. Honestly way more frustration than this overpriced brick.

I like this printer but there are a few design flaws.

I already had a Canon D1650 at work and loved it, so I bought one for my home office. I have been buying office equipment for businesses and home for 35 years now, and have bought about every brand. These days Canon can’t be beat for workgroup or small office printers and copiers. This printer prints fast from a cold startup, print quality is very crisp; much better than my Brother, HP, and Lexmark monochrome printers. The toner cart and drum are in one cartridge, so you get consistent print quality long term since your drums never get scratched up before your toner runs out. 5000 page OEM toner/drum carts cost about $160 at the time of this review, 3.2 cents per page, which is a low CPP and you get consistently high quality print. I feed checks and envelopes often in the side manual feed tray, and it has never jammed or misprinted on me in 3 years. Same goes for the top and bottom paper trays, they just work. The D1650 works equally well from my various Macs and Windows 10 PC. Both Windows and MacOS have the print drivers built in. You’ll need the Canon installer for the FAX and scanner. The scanner/copier works great, Canon’s scan utility works fine from the desktop for images and OCR. (I use ReadIris on MacOS). FAX works well too, and you can customize the header info on your faxes. Setup was simple and logical, I set a static IP address on the printer and the driver installer software had no problem finding it on the network. The control panel on the printer is laid out logically, but some settings are buried deep in submenus not intuitively named. The printer is not heavy for its size, so not hard to lift. A great workhorse all-in-one printer!

Setup is too complicated! I still don’t have the ability to scan to email

You cannot buy off market print cartridges for it. And the canon cartridges are very expensive, close to $200 each.

Great printer. Does everything you can need for a medium sized business. Only downfall I found is trying to print single checks from a full sheet from Quickbooks if needed. Still have yet to figure it out on my own or in the forum where I posted for help.
