   The Canon printers produce wonderful quality, but use ink rapidly, mainly because the cartridges are small and the ink density high. So, one goes through cartridges often. Therefore, price and quality are vital. My order from B&H delivered high quality originals at a wonderful price. So, complete satisfaction.

   Of all the cartridges I’ve ever purchased for any printer over many years, I’ve never had one that requires replacing so much. I’ve owned the printer for less than three weeks and have printed @300-400 4×6 COLOR PRINTS and have purchased so far 5 gray cartridges which is less of an issue on the budget as its been on time running back and forth to buy more inks; obviously this is a function of the printer, so on the side of what it produces, I will say that the few black and whites I’ve printed are stunning, so the addition of grays into the inkjet printing process does seem to make a great difference and I am overall happy with its performance in the PixmaPro5500MarkII, but wish that they would do some kind of a bundle price on the gray ink, maybe packs of a dozen for a slight discount or something.

   This ink – the original Canon Lucia Pigment Ink, is for my Canon 9500 (works in Mk II, also). Fantastic product, expensive by comparison to dye inks, but well worth the price. One cannot come close to comparing the results (prints) with those that come off 4 to 8 color machines.

   These Canon inks give consistantly great results. One negative is the short life of the cartridges. Canon should make a concerted effort to improve the longevity of the PGI-9 inks. Customers spend more on PGI-9 inks and Pro 9500 Mark II printers. Why shouldn’t we expect improvements.

   I like to buy replacement ink for my Pixma Pro9500 MarkII as a 10-ink kit. That way I have replacements ready as I need them. If I find I am going through one or more colors faster than the other, I will order them individually with the kit order…again, to insure I always have replacements on hand. Cons:

    I have the Canon PRO9500 Mark II Photo Printer, and OEM ink makes a big difference in the quliaity of the photo. The colors are fantastic. I printed about 100 large photos in the last month, and I really went through some ink; especially the Gray.

    The cartridges are very easy to swap out and they work flawlessly. The Canon utility that lets you know when the cartridges are low works pretty well but I normally get about 2 to 3 pages after it gives the low ink warning.

    Purchasing 10 individual cartridges of each color is a tad cheaper than the 10 pack. As a bonus you only purchase the cartridges you need making it even cheaper. These cartridges are expensive so any savings is great. Print quality from these is great.

    The product performs just as I expected, was offered at a reasonable price and was shipped promptly. The only slight drawback I find with it is that the cartridge is smaller than I would like. Otherwise, everything was great.
