   Great Price break for this machines ink cartridges. I’ve tried lots of off-brands that claim to be as good, but none of them preformed as well with out problems.

   I go to a local shop in a pinch when I run out of a single color, but I try to keep a full set ready to do, and B&H is the best place and price to get it. And because I live in MA, their standard ground shipping almost always shows up the next day.

   I seem to run out of this colour faster than the other 9. Buing the 10 pack is the most cost effective option, but I needed a few more of this colour. For Pro 9500 Mark II Canon printer.

   I have to say B&H prices on this ink are the best.. If your using PGI-9 ink what can I say but it always looks good.

   I recently scanned B&W negatives from forty years ago. I decide to do bulk printing on Canon Matte paper instead of fine art paper. (Several hundred 13 x 19′ prints were made on my Pro9500.) I kept informal track of the number of prints between cartridge replacements: informal results are between 8 and 15 prints per cartridge. Do the math and note that A3+ B&W wasn’t very expensive. Besides this ink and other gray/blacks there were some replacements of color cartridges. I wonder what Canon’s ink map to gray scale looks like!

   This ink – the original Canon Lucia Pigment Ink, is for my Canon 9500 (works in Mk II, also). Fantastic product, expensive by comparison to dye inks, but well worth the price. One cannot come close to comparing the results (prints) with those that come off 4 to 8 color machines.

    Lucia pigment base ink does not fade like dye based inks and looks decent on high gloss paper despite being pigment based. Colors look great on a variety of substrates, black & white photos look especially good thanks to the photo black, matte black and gray cartridges.

    I use this ink in a Canon Pro9500 printer and I am impressed with the output so I must be impressed with the printer, paper, and ink. In the entire run (more than 1000 pictures, mostly 11 x 19) I’ve had only one ink smear. I have also printed test sets to compare among different papers and have marveled at the consistency.

    I tend to print many of the photos I’m pleased with, changing the theme of my man-cave/office to reflect current travel or macro. I also provide a few photos to friends we travel with. As the PGI-9 is the only Canon cartridge that fits my Pro9500 MII printer, I use Canon inks. I tried a different supplier for a while and although the price point was attractive, I went back to the Canon cartridges. Raising the price for the 10-pack from $114 to $145 cost them 1/2 star. The other half star is that the gray seems to run out sooner than anything else.
