The cartridges themselves get 5 stars. They work, last for a reasonable (but not like my old HP) time.But, like every other purchaser of a Canon printer (or any other for that matter), I’m expected to make up for the relatively low printer purchase price by buying ink at an extremely, ridiculously, over-inflated price.Well, I usually do. I’ve tried the generics, and they actually work great, but I always seem to have 1 or 2 that stop working, or never start, due to incompatibility. Canon puts great effort into making its hardware ONLY compatible with the overpriced Canon stuff.
