The CLI-221 Gray Ink Tank from Canon is part of the ChromaLife100+ system which combines FINE print head technology with Canon ink and photo paper to print borderless photos that have been tested to last up to 300 years when stored in an archival-quality photo album. The ink tank is compatible with the following models:
- PIXMA MP980 Wireless Photo All-in-One Inkjet Printer
- PIXMA MP990 Wireless Photo All-in-One Inkjet Printer

I really haven’t had my Pixma MP990 long enough to evaluate the ink economically speaking. It did seem like the ink that came with the printer didn’t last too long and I didn’t feel that I printed that much but also realize that printers that print gorgeous prints are going to use a little more ink. Keep in mind that the ink bought in the value pack averages out to only $ a cartridge …, so I feel it is likely the least expensive I’ve paid per cartridge for ink used with other printers I have owned.

I ordered these refills on Tuesday knowing I would not have an opportunity to get to the store before Saturday to buy them. They were delivered to my door for less money … then I could have gone to my locale store to purchase them.

It was quick and easy to find the product online, then to pick it up at the superstore Awesome!

I always have a spare.

I use the ink in a project requiring high resolution. Along with specially matched paper, the ink produces very sharp prints.

Honestly, if you’ve got a printer that uses these inks, there’s no good alternative to genuine Canon product. Given that cost is the same at most web retailers, I chose to buy from B&H because of their historically fast shipping. I was not disappointed. As for the product itself, one could complain about the cost and small capacity, but why bother? Everyone knows that’s a drawback of inkjet printers, and it’s still infinitely better than the technology of my youth.

I always prefer the manufacturers ink when printing photos, so I stuck with Canon when it came time to replace. B&H’s price was almost identical to an off brand being carried locally, so this was a no brainer.

The color (and Canon printer) are both great products for quality output, but my only problemwhich ends up being a costly oneis that the ink is used up incredibly fast. And I’m not even printing color photos generally!!

I use this particular ink for my printer at home. I like it as it lasts longer than other ink tanks I’ve used in the past.

I have used this ink in an MP640 printer with 4×6 Canon Photo Paper Glossy II and Photo Paper Pro Platinum with excellent results from both papers. I’ve used it also with Kodak Premium Photo paper (CAT 815 4106), but there was a noticeable pink tinge used the Photo Paper Plus Glossy setting, as recommended by Kodak.

generally I buy the multiple ink packs, but needed a few extra magenta. Overall great inks aand the B&H price is the best
