Over the years I have owned other leading brands of printers, scanners, and all-in-one office machines, and nothing has come close to Canon for reliability, ease of use, and economy of supplies this review is about the supplies. A brand that starts with the letter ‘H’ and ends with a ‘P’ was probably the worst, with constant print quality problems, paper jams and painfully expensive ink cartridges. I owned three of their printers. Since switching to Canon in 2009, I have had none of those problems; the replacement ink is far less expensive; and I get far better mileage out of every replacement cartridge than I ever did with that other brand.

Noticeable quality over off-brand cartridges that we have purchases for much less. Photo colors from genuine Canon cartridges seem more vibrant and accurate. We have also had problems in the past with off brands that required frequent print head cleaning.

I know there are third party ink tanks, but I don’t have time to deal with tanks that don’t work. I have found that Canon tanks always work. There is no down time. B&H consistently has the best price, and shipping.

I have tried the cheap stuff and it is just not worth it. Stick with OEM and you will get quality printouts. My only complaint and the 4 star rating is against Canon for making the ink so darn expensive.
