With a soft luster finish, this Photo Paper Pro Luster from Canon, available here as a 50-pack of 8.5 x 11″ sheets, will provide a slightly textured surface that resists both glare and fingerprints while offering great color saturation and contrast. The paper also benefits from a moderate basis weight of 255 gsm and a thickness of 10.2 mil, as well as a brightness of 92%.

The Luster paper is by far my favorite from Canon to print-out my photos or friends/family. And the 13×19 is a great size for me.

I got this for free bundled with my Canon Pro-100 Printer. So far, I’ve only used one sheet as a test as I won’t be need to print anything close to 13 x 19 until later this year. But, the test I did turned out very well. The color was vibrant and accurate (that’s important!). The detail was crisp and sharp. The Luster was a nice sheen and not too glossy, which I hate. Since it’s Canon’s own paper, their profiles were already set up and I didn’t have to do any extra work. Just make sure you select the proper profile when printing!

Just completed a photo shoot for a local fire department. The comments were,that you could almost pick the fire trucks up out of the picture. The Pro Luster paper has upped the asking price of my work. I made the mistake of trying other paper once. It was returned to the store after using only 4 sheets and came back to Canon ( The best paper buy far).

I use this product for high end photographic prints. It, in combination with the Canon Pixma Pro 100 make STUNNING prints. This paper allows the ink to dry fast and to a fabulous sheen. It’s hard to explain, and WAY better than any photo prints you can get from a pharmacy or local photo lab.

Soft touch Vs Hard glossy can work wonders on some images and signage. At this price you can afford to waste a few sheets finding the prefect combination for excellent presentations and eye catching signs. Excellent ‘mid point’ in weight as a step up from my matte 13 x 19 paper. Note: not tested on color photos at this point.

I find this paper to be very close to Canon’s Photo Paper Pro Semi-Gloss. Looking at two printings of the same image, one on this Luster and the other on Canon Semi-Gloss, it is really difficult to notice which one is which. The differences are there, but they are subtle and will likely not be noticeable without careful scrutiny. IMHO, hanging in a frame, 99% of people will not note any differences between the papers whatsoever. The back of the paper is where you can easily tell because the Semi-Gloss has the Canon logo all over it, while the Luster has nothing printed on the back.
