With a soft luster finish, this Photo Paper Pro Luster from Canon, available here as a 25-pack of 17 x 22″ sheets, will provide a slightly textured surface that resists both glare and fingerprints while offering great color saturation and contrast. I got this paper for free with my Pixma Pro-100. I normally use Red River Papers and will in the future stick with them. While the prints that come out with this paper aren’t bad or anything, they just don’t have the vibrancy and saturation that I personally like to see for the work I do. The RRP papers are much more vibrant and their comparably priced papers are heavier stock, as well. I never really like the Canon brand papers so it doesn’t surprise me… but that is my personal experience. It’s cool that I got to try it out though. Thanks!

printing on a canon pro-100. I’ve only had the printer and paper for a week or so…but the quality is outstanding. I like the luster finish for this size paper. the printer came with software called print studio pro (plugin for photoshop, lightroom etc)..it has a feature named pattern print…where it automatically creates thumbnails you can print, with a variety of CMY combinations… yes, I use ICC profiles…but for fine tuning, this is a huge timesaver and works well with this paper if you have a critical print.

This is an excellent all around paper. I use it to make a first print so I can see it printed large, judge the quality of the photo, and adjust printing all for reasonable cost. When I’m happy with the result and if I want to print a photo to sell, I’ll print on something better. If I just want to give a print away this is a good choice of paper.

This paper has great reproduction detail without the distracting glare of a full-gloss sheet. I use it for all my art prints that are going to be framed with glass without worrying about the paper finger-printing on the glass.

Before I came across Canon’s Pro Luster paper I had tried a gambit of matte finish papers from various companies- I wish I hadn’t wasted my money looking for a bargain! More than a year later the prints on Canon Pro Luster paper carry the same vibrant detail as they say they were first produced while competitor papers are dull and fading. I recently completed converting my inventory stock to Canon papers and will be using their line of papers for the foreseeable future. I will note that I use Canon Printers, Papers, and Inks and cannot speak to how the paper would perform on a different brand printer- but I expect it will still do a stellar job!
