With a soft luster finish, this Photo Paper Pro Luster from Canon, available here as a 25-pack of 17 x 22″ sheets, will provide a slightly textured surface that resists both glare and fingerprints while offering great color saturation and contrast. The paper also benefits from a moderate basis weight of 255 gsm and a thickness of 10.2 mil, as well as a brightness of 92%.

I’ve been switching back and forth between this and the equivalent quality semi-gloss photo paper. I settled on this paper as i like it best. as recommended, i give it a full 24 hours to set, but i’m sure that’s overly cautious. I enjoy seeing the prints and getting them off the computer screen.

I recently purchased a new Canon printer and thought I would try this luster paper and for a fairly low priced paper it performs quite well. It is similar to the Epson luster paper and has a fine stippled surface that has a nice sheen. The colors are saturated and the paper base is a clean bright white. The weight of this paper is not very heavy, so it is meant for more general printing applications rather than for fine art printing.

I use this in letter and 13 x 19 size for everyday prints. Excellent budget priced paper. Just superb results for the $$. The ink jet printers you buy for a few hundred dollars produce prints that equal or best the finest Eastman dye transfer prints.The ink jet printer companies slipped up on their names. They should have called them ‘machine made dye transfer prints’ or Canon dye transfer prints, Epson dye transfer prints, etc. not ink jet prints. ……….
