With a soft luster finish, this Photo Paper Pro Luster from Canon, available here as a 25-pack of 17 x 22″ sheets, will provide a slightly textured surface that resists both glare and fingerprints while offering great color saturation and contrast. The paper also benefits from a moderate basis weight of 255 gsm and a thickness of 10.2 mil, as well as a brightness of 92%.

The grain on this paper creates a velvety smoothness to your prints and I absolutely love the way it looks. It excels at most types of prints. High contrast black and white to punchy saturated prints. There is no bleed on the Pro-100 if you choose the correct paper setting in Print Studio Pro.

This paper is very comparable to Fuji Crystal Archive or Kodak Endura. It’s heavy paper, a little heavier than the Fuji and Kodak. I use this to make borderless 11×14 prints by offsetting it exactly 4.25 inches then I trim off the white strip across the top which gives me Two 4.25×6.5 pieces that I use for printing my 4×6 prints.

This is the latest order of this paper. In previous purchases the back of the paper is clearly marked, obviously putting the paper in backwards is a waste of time, ink and money. When inserted correctly its a great paper and with the above caveat yields great images.

I just picked up a Canon Pixma Pro 100 that came with the 13×19 Semi-Gloss paper. The photos come out amazing with this printer and paper combo but i’m sorry the Luster paper has it beat. It drys faster, the photos look more vivid and has just the right amount of gloss(Not too much and not too little). After I run out of the Semi-Gloss 13×19 I will be getting the Luster in this size. My only negative point is you need to pay close attention when loading it in the printer. It doesn’t have the Canon logo printed on the back so you could accidentally load it backwards. You can distinguish the difference by touch. If you need fast drying and vivid photos get the Luster and if you need high gloss prints get the Platinum.

Photo Paper Pro Luster is perfect for portraits because of the luster finish, which reduces glare. The paper has a nice weight and thickness for a professional feel. To achieve accurate color you must use a color management workflow and a color profile. Canon paper profiles are available on line. Read a much as you can about proper color management setting for your printer. The 50 sheet box makes more sense than the older 20 sheet boxes saving time and money.
