   I know some who have dabbled in non-OEM inks for the Pro-100 and, as described and shown to me, the results are, at best, equivalent to Canon’s OEM product but never superior. Unfortunately, non-OEM output is also inconsistent (beware yellow!). In other words, the premium price for OEM ink buys me consistent output. Your milage may vary but I find the extra cost well-worth that peace of mind. And like always, B&H provided fantastic customer service and excellent delivery options (in my case, living in NYC, free delivery the next business day).

   I’ve always had a problem getting ink. I even tried Cannon, they shouldn’t have delivery problems, but they do. But with B&H, you never fail to have it in stock. Good job!

   Recently purchased printer. Only made a few prints to date but prints are a vast improvement over my old printer. Monochrome prints have a lot more depth. Very happy so far.

    I’m told that these cartridges are identical to the CLI-8 but the computer chips are different. I now have a surplus of cartridges from my old Pro 9000 printer that recently died. I sure wish they were interchangeable ! Cost aside, this is a good product.

    This pack is really usueful. It seems every third time through replacing inks, this pack has all I need! Great quality, great longevity with the work I have been doing. Prints in sunny rooms have lasted for many years – still surviving without fade.

    The Pixma Pro-100 and its ChromaLife100 ink (CLI-42) produce great looking images. I use almost exclusively Canson Infinity fine art papers (mat finish). The detail and color depth and quality are excellent. There are however two draw backs. 1) ink cost. It is definitely not the cheapest printer to operate. These are small cartridges and if you are printing full sized 19×13 prints in any significant volume, you will need to plan on keeping spares on hand. 2) It is a dye-based ink versus the pigment-based ink of its higher end cousins. Dye inks are not truly archival grade inks, like the pigment inks of the Pro-1, Pro-10, and Pro-1000.

    This is great ink for my Canon Pro that produces realistic colors.
