The Pixma Pro-100 and its ChromaLife100 ink (CLI-42) produce great looking images. I use almost exclusively Canson Infinity fine art papers (mat finish). The detail and color depth and quality are excellent. There are however two draw backs. 1) ink cost. It is definitely not the cheapest printer to operate. These are small cartridges and if you are printing full sized 19×13 prints in any significant volume, you will need to plan on keeping spares on hand. 2) It is a dye-based ink versus the pigment-based ink of its higher end cousins. Dye inks are not truly archival grade inks, like the pigment inks of the Pro-1, Pro-10, and Pro-1000

You will save a lot of money by purchasing this 8 pack compared to buying them separate. Of course B&H has the best deal and shipping. My photo prints are very true to color and look fantastic! Nothing beats genuine Canon inks for sharpness and clarity.

I’m happy as long as these cartridges are still available so i can use my Pixma Pro-100. they’re a bit expensive, but i like the printer and the inks that go with it. they never seem to clog and the colors are great.

I asked the salesman for an all around printer that also creates good photos. I was sold a Canon Pro-100 photo printer, thinking it was a basic desktop model. The Canon CLI-42 Eight-Color Ink Tank Pack is the ink replacement to get when buying replacement ink. The cost is high but the user will experience far fewer problems with usage.

For my use, these ink packs are the most economical way to buy Canon ink for my PIXMA PRO-100 printer. The B&H price for this item is the best I’ve seen. I certainly would not use 3rd party ink in my PRO-100. B&H gets me the ink I need when I need it. They are good folks!

The 8 packs of ink are simply too expensive. (about $125) However, I tried the cheaper inks and they are not as good. The ink runs a little, doesn’t dry properly and is poor quality. So if you care about your pictures, you want the color to be good, and the picture quality to be long lasting, then buy this product. It is excellent.
