To date the Canon replacement ink hasn’t let me down. It’s always gave the quality results I expect from my printer and for my photo work. Talking with other people about their results from third party suppliers strengthens my ongoing decision to stick with getting my replacements from Canon. I especially like this eight (8) pack simply due to when one color is ending the other colors aren’t far behind. I would recommend this pack for all serious printing work.

You won’t get color consistency with 3rd Party ink. Canon’s inks are accurate and consistent.

For my use, these ink packs are the most economical way to buy Canon ink for my PIXMA PRO-100 printer. The B&H price for this item is the best I’ve seen. I certainly would not use 3rd party ink in my PRO-100. B&H gets me the ink I need when I need it. They are good folks!

Cannon inks are good quality, but I wish they would come in larger size cartridge. Constantly having to replace cartridges is no fun. Plus, it’s bad for the environment.

Recently I purchased a Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer and I just love the prints that come off of it. But you have to keep replacing the ink tanks — that’s life in the photo printing world. I have kept an accurate tabulation of ink consumption with my printing of landscape and flower images, normalized to the inked area of an 8.5 x 11 size. To date I have gotten the following such print counts (equivalent) for each color tank: M=88, PC=80, Y=60, BK=80, GY=60, PM=55, LGY=55, C=165+. Different subject matter will consume these color tanks at different rates. One great feature of this printer is that it will stop an active print when a particular tank runs out (and it really has zero ink left!) and you can continue that print once you have replaced the empty ink tank. You don’t loose the print.

The inks work great in my new Canon Pro-100 printer, even though the yellow looked brown compared to all the other Canon yellow I have used in the past. The tanks are shrink-wrapped in tough plastic. A tear strip is supposed to offer quick entry AND vent opening at the same time, but it did not work very well. Two of the strips tore loose without opening the vent, and most required a pocket knife to finish freeing the tanks. The vent is important: About a half inch of the tape is supposed to tear off the top of the tank, uncovering the vent hole. These tanks fit only one printer — the Pro-100, so I worry about future availability.
