The PGI-250 black ink is pigment-based and produces professional document quality with crisp, smudge-resistant text, and the CLI-251 color inks provide vibrant colors for all your photos. Additionally, these inks are designed with FINE (Full Photolithographic Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology, which provide your prints with added sharpness, detail and quality.

Plug them in and they work. You do not have to worry about the printer not recognizing them.

As I have said before, color-cartridge-roulette is no bleeping fun, but the reliable availability of options from Canon via B&H takes some of the mental pain out of it. I dare not do big prints without a full set of inks in reserve, and this is one way to do it. The 4-pack is another. Cherry-picking individual colors yet another. All costly. Oh, well.
