The only problem with ordering ink for the P8720 is that it doesn’t come with the gray ink. You must purchase it separately.

These ink cartridges run out FAST! For the amount of money they cost, they definitely don’t carry their weight as far as quantity. They perform great and print high quality pictures and documents etc. but they do not last long. There are also 6 cartridges in the printer. I find myself replacing one or another often. I expected to go through them when I was printing pictures and brochures, but since those projects have ended, I have only been using them to print documents and they don’t meet my expectation of being good value.

Our color printing needs are minimal, so a set of cartridges lasts a long time. We’ve never had a problem with genuine Canon cartridges, including printing after weeks or months of the printer sitting idle. There are cheaper alternatives, and if we printed a lot, we’d probably get an ink tank printer. For what we do, the relatively high cost of inkjet cartridges in general is offset by performance and longevity of the printer itself.
