The Canon PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer allows you to create high resolution 9600 x 2400 dpi full color prints. It can even print borderless up to 13 x 19″ and produce a 4 x 6″ full color photograph in about 36 seconds. Additionally, with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, many more wireless printing options are available.
For paper handling the iP8720 utilizes a 150-sheet automatic feeder. This enables it to print 14.5 black ipm and 10.4 color ipm without worry of refilling the printer. Also, this printer has a 6-color ink configuration, including gray, that enables excellent tonalities and color reproduction for your images.
You can print directly onto CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs with the use of the disc tray. Other features include automatic power on and off for power management when the printer is not in use as well as compatibility with the PIXMA Printing Solutions smartphone application.

I’ve had no problems with this printer. I haven’t printed wirelessly yet but I’ve printed sticker sheets with this printer and the colors are accurate and vibrant. Great purchase.

The printer is highly rated and works well however ordering ink is made confusing because two (2) black ink cartridges are necessary: a regular-sized black ink cartridge and an XL black ink cartridge: the printer won’t work without both cartridges installed and with adequate ink. So if you order your printer with 4 refill cartridges, as I did, you will still find yourself unable to print unless you also ordered a refill XL black ink cartridge. Strangely Canon does not seem to sell a complete refill set of ink cartridges.

This printer prints very nice photos, both black and white and color. I would have given it five stars except I could not get it to work wirelessly, no matter what I tried. This is not the first device I have set up wirelessly, but this just could not get this one going. Purchased a very inexpensive USB cable and that did the trick. As usual B&H gave me excellent service when it came to price and speed of delivery.

I have only had a chance to print just a few things, but so far I am very satisfied with this printer. When i am able to put it to the test, I will review it a little more.

I had an Epson 2200 printer for many years. The printer still works but can’t get ink for it- so I decided to go with a Canon because it will use inks other than Canons – the PIXMA 8720 is great – easy set up , I’ve been printing up to 8×10’s using Epson matte paper and the color is accurate and the quality is very good. I want to try Canon and Red River papers to see if there is a difference in outcome. This printer uses dye inks so they aren’t archival like pigment inks which are more expensive, but it’s great for greeting cards, aceo’s and small prints. Excellent printer for the cost.

I have only printed half a dozen pics and they are spectacular– great color, great clarity, quiet, all good stuff. Set-up, on the other hand, a nightmare! Took hours to get internet connection to work, page set-up adjusted, image size recognized. Very frustrating!!! Should have taken 15 minutes, but nothing was user friendly, intuitive, or explained well. Terrible experience.

I’m loving my new printer. It was easy to set up with my MAC and the photos look great.

We use this in one of our art studios and it has performed very well for us. It prints the most accurate color on plain paper, and will do oversize prints (our last project was 10 x 26 paper, which it handled quite well.) It does an even better job on photo paper. Very reliable too.

I tried to connect the printer to the network with 2 Mac, 2 PC, 1 iPhone, never connected to the network, the instructions in Spanish are not clear, they say things inconsistent. It’s a shame that I have to go back, because if you have very beautiful prints.

Just finished my first set of art poster prints with the pixma iP8720 and they look gorgeous!! I was nervous about the wireless set up because I’d read a few bad reviews but I had absolutely no trouble at all, it was all set up and hooked up within 15 minutes. I’m using 11×17 luster photo paper and they print a lot faster than I would have imagined. So far I’m loving this printer!!

I have used it at two events. They are events for dogs and are not a high price point. I use this printer when selling cheap packages at 2 hour events, still better than @others, LOL

Another addition to my photo/art studio recently. I was expecting to pay a few thousand for a larger format printer with professional industry standard color and archival quality inks, but it was in the very low hundreds. Now I can print exactly what I see through the camera.

This is the first Canon picture printer I bought and I love it. Before I bought this printer, I bought and returned 2 Laser color printers and a liquid inkjet (that is what it looked like). I returned all 3 printers and bought this one. It was so easy to set up and print. And the quality of the pictures are beautiful. I have a 21 Mac computer and setting it up was a breeze and I printed the first picture within one hour. It seems that there is a newer printer of this version, but for the price and I haven’t had a printer in a long time, I thought, if it is really bad, I would upgrade. But, there is no reason to upgrade. The price of the ink isn’t bad and it comes in XL and gray which really makes the picture amazing. I also have a monochrome Brother Laser printer for printing manuals or letters because one cartridge prints 5,000 pages. I use the Canon for pictures only. When UPS dropped it off and I opened the box, everything was packed tight. It definitely wasn’t open because everything was packed tight, cardboard, tape, this came right from the store or the factory. I bought electronics from other online stores that was opened, but I bought it as new. I buy open box from B&H and it is like buying something new, it’s just put together a little bit, and that is fine with me because I am a woman and any help putting something together is fine with me as long as I pay the open box price. I bought an open box Panasonic TV in 2010 and I still have them, and the picture is beautiful. B&H you are the best, thank you for being here because I know I am getting a quality product.

Excellent, very user friendly, printer. Set up with wifi in no time at all ( I am not computer set up savy). The pictures are beyond fabulous. Worth every penny. Going to use it to make Christmas gifts!!!

I photo and print mostly for my own pleasure. Because I am retired my money is spent with a little more discernment. Because of this reason I spent hours reading reviews and product descriptions not wanting to spend anymore than I needed to and yet still wanted the quality. After talking to an associate at B&H I decided to buy the PIXMA iP8720. During set-up, I had a software glitch. I called Canon and to my absolute shock, I actually talked to an American who resolved the issue in a few minutes. Even though I used old photo paper from my last printer, the PIXMA pictures just blew me away. The sharpness and colors were just so right on. Very happy with the purchase.

I wanted a professional quality printer for proofs but did not want to spend a fortune as I would not be printing professionally to sell. With the big dog printers you have to have an outlet to sell your prints because those things need to be used daily. This was the answer for me. It’s quality is very high, if you did not have a side by side comparative I highly doubt you could find fault with this machine. I am VERY pleased with this purchase. It is a high photo quality printer that uses dye inks. My only other option was the P200 but this was half the price and you can actually buy ink for it. The P200 is so new you cannot find ink. Pro’s – Enthusiast level proof printer, inks are moderately priced and accessible, prints images worthy of framing on a budget. Con’s – Black and White Prints on Matte not as impressive as color prints. They are detailed but not as representative of a more professional print.
