The Canon PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer allows you to create high resolution 9600 x 2400 dpi full color prints. It can even print borderless up to 13 x 19″ and produce a 4 x 6″ full color photograph in about 36 seconds. Additionally, with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, many more wireless printing options are available.
For paper handling the iP8720 utilizes a 150-sheet automatic feeder. This enables it to print 14.5 black ipm and 10.4 color ipm without worry of refilling the printer. Also, this printer has a 6-color ink configuration, including gray, that enables excellent tonalities and color reproduction for your images.
You can print directly onto CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs with the use of the disc tray. Other features include automatic power on and off for power management when the printer is not in use as well as compatibility with the PIXMA Printing Solutions smartphone application.

The one thing that I think is very important is to include a USB high-speed interface cable. It’s advertised as having that ability but no hardware to interface it to the computer. Please include the cable!

What can I say. My wife and I love it. Wireless function prints from multiple devices. Quality of prints are crystal clear.

I take many high resolution pictures and need to make 16X20 prints. This pinter does it very well. The major advantage is when making copies of a pen drive recorded spectrum, the lines do not disappear. However, I could not find in the literature or technical service the set of conditions that give the highest, advertised resolution. Vertical resolution does meet 2400 DPI, as measured by myself.

I bought this to replace my Canon Pro 9000 Mark 2 printer. I selected this over the Canon Pro 100 because it is lighter, and the ink is available locally. At the time I bought it it was also cheaper. I reprinted a series of photos (8×10 through 13×19) that I had recently printed on my Pro 9000 before it stopped working, and the results were indistinguishable. The only reason I gave the printer a 4 instead of a 5 is that the paper in/out trays do not seem as robust as they were on the Pro 9000 (and probably the Pro 100).

I did have to order ink after several months of use. The photos are turning out nicely. I connected easily enough to my laptop. The software that comes with it likes to pop up on my windows desktop screen automatically everytime I start the laptop, I don’t like that. I’m not sure that I like the software much at all but I got it to do what I wanted it to do so it’s fine.

I’ve only been using this printer for a week or two and so far I’m really pleased with the photos it prints. I’ve printed 7 or 8 8x10s out of Photoshop Elements and they are as bright and clear as anything I’ve ever gotten from a commercial lab. I don’t know how long the ink cartridges last, so we’ll see later how economical it is, but the quality is beyond doubting. One interesting thing is that printing from the included Canon software is noticeably inferior than printing from Photoshop. The color was off – more to yellow tint. With Photoshop Elements my screen and printer colores matched perfectly. I tried printing on some paper from the maker of my previous photo printer and it was not as good as the Cannon Glossy II paper. Maybe matching printer, ink and paper from the same manufacturer is more than just marketing. Very pleased so far with my Pixma iP8720.

this printer is expensive to operate but well behaved. Does what it is supposed to do with no hassle. This counts a lot, have had two previous (non Canon) wide format printers that were a maintenance nightmare.

The physical aesthetic of the printer itself is gorgeous in my opinion. I really like the quality of the images that it produces, and it was also quite easy to set up. As a hobbyist photographer who started doing photography as a form of mental therapy, this printer is a very nice addition and I love it. This is also the first printer I’ve personally owned since the early 2000s.

Very nice printer – but lack of Ethernet port is a real drawback, and keeps me from buying several more. (Yes I can buy a USB Enet interface, but that is a real hassle to manage).

I have had this printer for a few weeks now and I have to say it works flawlessly so far. I read a lot of previous reviews on the setup and knew what I was getting into when I set up the wireless print. Windows 10 recognized it almost immediately. Windows 7 took some time to set it up so be prepared if you are doing this. The size of the printer is something to think of before purchasing, it does take up quite a bit of real estate on a desk. As far as some of the software that comes with the printer I have not used it and do not really plan on it so I cannot comment on that. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

While I haven’t burned through my first set of cartridges I love the print. I highly recommend no matter who you buy the printer from to use Canon to get it set up and functioning. I use LR and I’m on a Mac platform. Canon assisted me in downloading Easy-Photo Print Editor. The benefit is that under media you can select the specific type of paper and as long as it is Canon paper it makes and specific match to assure the highest quality prints. I’m using Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II and the prints look great. My understanding is that this printer is relative ink conservative, and can sit unused for a couple of weeks without clogging and requiring a major flushing. The first unit I received was defective and B&H was great at getting me a new replacement printer quickly.

I bought my first one on December, but it had lines going across the print, so Canon sent a new ip8720. The new one works fine but the colors don’t match the edited images through Lightroom on my imac. Overall not satisfied with this product.

Printed a few pictures taken with my Canon 7d. The pictures are sharp and the colors are true to image. I also printed a black and white picture taken with my 13 megapixel cell phone. To my surprise I was truly impressed with the shades of gray to black. This printer replaces my long lasting Epson R800. I wanted something that could print larger pictures (13×19). My only disappointment Is that it does not do roll paper, but I knew that before I purchased it. For the price I paid, I an extremely satisfied. Took a little work but I was able to get both the USB and wifi connections to work at the same time. The printer is connected directly to my desktop and I can print via wifi from my portable devices and laptop. All in all great features and prints.

I use this product to print images of my children for their grandparents and for my scrapbook. I also use it to print landscape scenery from my vacations. I have also used it to print out portraits from two weddings I photographed. This printer is amazing. The clarity on paper is pretty much perfect. I have used HP glossy, Canon glossy, and Staples Matte photo papers, and been satisfied with all of my prints on those papers. (I could not use Staples glossy because the ink would not stick.) Having the six cartridges must really make a difference. I was disappointed not to be able to use my ink cartridges from my previous printer (Canon i960), and since I am a regular shopper at Staples, I thought I would try out an HP printer. I was very disappointed and took it back for a full refund. Staples didn’t have what I was looking for, so I turned to B&H and found exactly what I wanted for an acceptable price with no fee for shipping. Huzzah! In addition to amazing photos, this printer comes with a Canon software package that makes me totally geek out about scrapbooking. It has free downloads for calendars, scrapbook pages, cards, and about anything you think you might be able to create on paper. It is so EASY! The one downside to this printer that I’ve found is that it has no plain paper tray. Everything is fed in through the back, so I’m always pulling paper out and putting it back in, because I switch from photo to regular frequently and from 4X6 to 8.5X11 regularly. Minor issue, though, because it’s very easy to load and unload the paper. I don’t mind the price of the ink because I think the tanks last a long time, and I also think you get what you pay for.

For years my choice for printers was Epson, but their practice of blocking third party inks, while their own are raised in price. So I decided to add Pixma i8720. No regrets, large printing is awesome freedom of expression. Unlike others, I dont have problems with bleeding and handing, maybe this is a issue with third party inks? Anyway, five Stars well deserved for this printer do to its quality prints and different size of papers you can use on this machine.

The printer worked great! Had a hard time connecting it to the internet, so I just used a usb cable and it worked just fine! Printed out at least 50 11.5×8 pictures and didn’t even get to low ink!

Just got started with the printer and the first photos I printed were beautiful! Enjoy how I can easily use many sizes of paper. Set up was easy and I look forward to trying some fabric printing etc.

I can’t print directly from Photoshop Elements 12 — the prints are severely cropped. The same picture prints OK from the Canon “Image Garden.” Canon has been no help in solving or diagnosing this problem. So far no other problems.
