I purchased this printer as I needed one to print on white cd or dvd media. Does great photos and good addition to my desk. The only negative is the size and cost of the ink.

This is our second Pixma iP8720 printer. My wife and I managed to actually wear out the one we purchased three years ago. During the school year my wife makes the most use of this printer for banners, posters and art projects. During the rest of the year it is my main photo printer, or was until I purchased a Pixma Pro-100 printer. This is now my main photo printer. I would highly recommend this printer to any one needing a great general office, and photo printer

I just purchased this printer for graphic design work. I am currently a student and needed a good printer for a reasonable price. This printer produces gorgeous photos and also handles graphics well.

My old PhotoPrinter (Which I liked)quit on me. I started reading printer reviews. I decided to get this one because the price was reasonable ,and I like the fact it used multiple cartridges to print. photo’s . I tested it by printing 4×6’s, and 8×10’s. and text.I didn’t try any larger prints but the fact it can do larger prints is a plus. The print quality was great I’m very satisfied with the printer. It’s easy to install I just installed the software and plugged it into my USB port. Some of the software doesn’t work like Image Garden. But since I use a photo program I really didn’t care. It definitly does what I bought it for to print photo’s and text when needed. Great printer!

I truly don’t understand the issues that some people are having with this printer. I’ve had mine for about three or four years, now. It’s been running strong the whole time. I will admit that I did have some issues with getting it to work wirelessly, at first, but after about a year and a half I re-read the instructions, and set it up using my network. All I can figure is that I must have felt rushed or excited, and overlooked something when first setting it up. other than that I’ve had no issues with it.

In general, PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer by Canon is an excellent printer though it’s rough in handling printing media. However, installation instructions are a complete misconception. Because they are a very important part of the package, i must subtract 1 star from my rating. By the way, use you common sense when installing the printer. You may ignore instructions completely. In my case, connecting USB before any software installation saved me a lot of frustration. How do I know that? I attached it twice to 2 independent (separate) systems (Win 10 and Win 8.1). Another feature that I dislike it that printer’s home (starting) position is floating. Using non-standard formats (example, non-standard envelopes) may get really frustrating. I should subtract here another half a point but such option is unavailable.

My wife and I bought this model because our son has one, he has one for his small business. As it turns out we were correct in buying it, we keep both running all the time. Also we bought extra ink cartridges thinking we would need them right away, but we are still printing from the ink cartridges that it came with. Nice job Canon. We get a lot of compliments on our printing. People will ask who does your printing? Again nice job Canon. Then you tell them it was done at home on a Canon printer, their next question is how much is the printer? So we are getting high quality results from this printer.

I love this printer. It does an exceptional job printing photos and the color is fantastic. They turn out crisp and clear. I use it frequently to print CDs and am happy with that feature as well. It’s narrow, long profile is a great fit for my small desk. My only frustration with this printer comes after months of use. This is the second one I’ve purchased but it will be my fourth total. After 10-11 months of use, the printer stops feeding the paper. It is unable to grasp it to pull it into the machine. This happened previously with the first three. The first time I contacted Canon within a year after my purchase and they sent me a refurbished model. If worked great until around 11 months when the same thing happened again. I contacted Canon again and they sent another refurbished model. Same experience with that one. It was just over a year with the last one when it had feeding issues again. I chose to order a new model. I’m sure that the feeding issue may arrive again but knowing this didn’t keep me from ordering this printer again. Canon sutomer service is fantastic and I’m not ready to give up the printer I love so much.

Installation both with usb and network went flawlessly. I have not had it a real long time but so far I am very happy with the results I am getting. Very first prints right out of the box without using any profiles or calibration were extremely close to what was on my monitor which did impress me. I can certainly say I am happy with my purchase and with B&H pricing and quick shipping.

I bought this printer to use when printing my pictures of the night sky/stars and so far the printing results look good.

I had the same model for three years and evidently used it to death. The print heads died. So I got another one. It works very well, very nice color coverage

I used this printer very lightly ( 100 pages printed) over a 3-year period and it died without warning (device requires service). Canon offered to sell me another one at above market price. Prints were nice when it worked. Connecting by wi fi was flakey at times. I’m not likely to buy anything made by Canon again.

The printer prints great. Only issue is connecting it to my WiFi. Took 8 hours. I suggest a small screen be added to the printer.

I bought this to replace my girlfriends printer that was out of date. She wanted a Canon capable of printing pictures with WiFi. This was the only one of quality I could find. The setup is the same as most Canon printers and it is not great. You link with a cable and upload the WiFi settings. I don’t like this at all. No LCD display either. The picture and color quality is there though. I would rate it less for the setup but it really does what its supposed to after its running.

Anticipate good things from this – larger prints (up to 13 x 19) and on-disc printing. Of course, with larger prints comes greater use and cost of ink, so that will be expected also. An additional cart with gray ink should really make those prints pop! Will set it up when the need arises for larger prints, which should be in May or June.

This printer works well, when it opts to work properly. I’d estimate at least 75% of the time I get a printer error usually associated with either a bad connection, no connection, or some other reason that it won’t print. it doesn’t seem to matter whether its a wifi connection or USB. Easily the least reliable printer I’ve ever owned. I’ve tried every conceivable fix, every online suggestion, I’ve installed and re-installed drivers … nothing will make this horrible printer work with any reliability at all. This will be the dead last Canon printer, or Canon anything for that matter, that I will ever own. As I write this, the IP8720 is apparently no longer made. If you’re thinking of buying a used one, good luck …

Our second Canon Inkjet. Got it because we needed to print some larger prints and it does up to 13×19.

I’ve been using Canon photo printers paired with Mac computers for a long time. This time it’s the Mac Book Pro. If Canon was up to date with Apple-64bit- I would have given the 8720 five stars. However, you should know that I don’t use wireless, so have no opinion there.
