The Canon PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer allows you to create high resolution 9600 x 2400 dpi full color prints. It can even print borderless up to 13 x 19″ and produce a 4 x 6″ full color photograph in about 36 seconds. Additionally, with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, many more wireless printing options are available.
For paper handling the iP8720 utilizes a 150-sheet automatic feeder. This enables it to print 14.5 black ipm and 10.4 color ipm without worry of refilling the printer. Also, this printer has a 6-color ink configuration, including gray, that enables excellent tonalities and color reproduction for your images.
You can print directly onto CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs with the use of the disc tray. Other features include automatic power on and off for power management when the printer is not in use as well as compatibility with the PIXMA Printing Solutions smartphone application.

I also have the Canon Pro9000 Mark II (at work), the iP8720 was purchased for home use. Getting it connected wireless to my home network was a struggle. Once connected and printed the exact same test print on both the 9000 Mark II and the iP8720, I would say the iP8720 to my naked eye looked almost the same as what I got out of the Mark II. I would say the blues were a little more saturated on the IP8720 (just slightly), the Mark II definitely produced a warmer tone. The iP8720 colors on print were truer to real life subjects of photo.

Replaced my aged Epson 1400 that gave up the ghost. So far the Canon performs as expected. Ink replacement appears to be about the same cost as the Epson. If the 8720 holds up as good as my Canon camera I’ll be very pleased.

Printer is good, photos are not as good as the previous i9900, so a little disappointing there. The wireless was painful. It would not set up following the Canon instructions. After calling Canon, I decided to just connect by USB, that works. For documents, it is a fast printer.

This replaces a 3880, which I used happily for a dozen years but then the PKMK valve failed. I will miss the pigmented inks but apart from that, at this early stage, I can say it prints well, and handles paper well. Happy with image quality. Amazing value for the asking price.

Bought this printer to print 8×10 photos and on printable DVD’s/Cd’s. The addition of the grey ink tank, makes black and white prints look amazing. The DVD/CD quality is perfect, especially when printing on silver, hub printable discs. Large foot print, definitely not a small printer, but you should expect that, being able to print 13×19 borderless prints. Comparable to my last Epson, but a fraction of the price.

I purchased this printer to print some of my photos. Little did I know that I would use it for printing lists from my iPhone, and work pages from my iPad. I will also print this review from my iPad. Thanks to my new printer!

I bought and use this printer for one reason, printing photos and I am very familiar with inkjet printers. The first thing I noticed different about this printer was it was very quiet and smooth while in operation. The FINE print Canon technology shows great detail in the prints. That is hard to find, unless you are shelling out the big bucks.

Printer is fast and produces better than average prints. Works well wirelessly and as AirPrint printer with iOS devices. Some prints produced lines from print head alignment. If it wasn’t for this annoying issue would be 5 stars.

It was a little time consuming getting it connected to the WiFi.

I was totally impressed by this printer. It is very versatile, quick, and produces great looking images. It was a snap to connect to a home wireless network. I’ve had it for a few weeks so far, but am very happy with the purchase!

I bought this printer mainly because it was advertised to print directly on blank CD/DVD disks. After struggling with this for a year I have been informed that it only works with Canon’s pre-designed templates, not my own label designs. This completely negated my reason for buying this printer. To be fair, it prints great photos and documents with very few problems; however I could have gotten as much good from a much simpler, smaller, and less expensive Canon printer.

Fast shipping. Works great with easy set-up. Prints envelopes without haveing to tell what size. Color pictures on plain white paper are really good and even better on photo paper. Great item.

Purchased this printer to primarily print diagrams and spreadsheets. For that purpose, the printer works really well. Diagrams have crisp lines and can be printed on 13×19 paper. Spreadsheets are large enough to not have to squint and all the text is clear and legible. I’ve printed some pictures using the printer with somewhat mixed results. The pictures come out looking very nice on glossy paper, but they tend to be warmer than what my monitors display. If I were really serious about printing pictures, I would take the time to calibrate my monitors to the printer output. Ink is not too expensive either. Unless the unit I have fails or malfunctions, I expect to get long use out of the printer.

The printer I wanted was out of stock, so I entered my info to be contacted when it was and THEY DID! Other vendors I did the same for didn’t. Not only that, delivery was super fast and earlier than expected!

I use this printer for business and personal printing both documents and photos. I have had it one year now and it works great. After owning Epson and HP printers, Canon is my choice. The ink runs all the way through the end – it’s never wasteful. My Epson 1800 printed even better photos, but the inks were unreliable when I didn’t print for a few days. If you are printing photos everyday, then Epson may be the best choice. But this is great all around oversize printer. I leave it sleeping most of the time recommended by Canon. It just works!
