Ive been searching for a higher grade of paper to do custom black and white printing with. This fills the bill. It has rich blacks and holds detail well in the highlights. Yes, if you ask, I will recommend it.

This has become my favorite paper for images that need a bit of a glow/warmth. I like it so much I’ve purchased it in multiple sizes!
Vaughn Kerluke (verified owner) –
This Canson Platine Fibre paper is impressive with reproducing a subtle set of tonal ranges. I like it so much that I am going to oder more.
Amara Yost (verified owner) –
Wonderful tonal range for b/w….probably the best paper available for b/w printing…

I have tried many many papers. This is my favorite for prints that I want to have a warm look. There’s a really nice glow and level of detail in the prints.
Parker Kozey (verified owner) –
Great weight and thickness for black and white prints.

I’ve been searching for a quality paper priced less than some of those that I’ve been using. I do a lot of printing, mostly for myself and some for clients. In tests this paper has held up to the top brands in all aspects. It’s beautiful creamy slight warm base that produces outstanding prints in both color and black and white. I strongly recommend it.

I recently did a head-to-head comparison among papers from Hahnemujle, Canson, Moab, Epson, and Red River. What, I was looking for was a paper that gave good rich blacks, a good tonal range, and did not use optical brighteners. The Canson Platine was my final choice. As someone who generally leans toward matte papers for black and white images I was surprised to rediscover that – just like back in the old darkroom days – semiglossy fiber papers work very well with black and white images. Of course, choice of papers is very subjective and a matter of taste. This paper is definitely worth trying.

My favorite in the Canson Luster line. Deep blacks. Super high Dmax, great texture. i love it

I’ve been using Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag for several years. I love the luster surface, which is rather tough and not delicate, and the substantial feel of the paper, something my clients often comment on. This paper prints color and b&w portraits ESPECIALLY well. There is minimal gloss differential. I also print fine art landscapes and still life images on this paper and could hardly be more pleased with the results. The cost of this paper is a bit lower than many similar papers, some of which are not 100% cotton. I like to print on a number of papers, glossy/luster as well as matte surface. This will always be one of the favorites. It is so reliable and never fails to please me or my clients!

I’ve been using Canson Baryta in part because it is a little cheaper than Platine. With the baryta papers currently back ordered, I bought Platine. It is very nice, perhaps more like B&W silver prints than the baryta papers.

Canson Platine Fibre is more like the black and white emulsion papers I use, such as Ilford Multigrade. Thus, I am very happy with the digital print. Choose the correct profiles and BADA BING, BADA BOOM! good work for color and BW. I use an older Epson 2880 13×19, and I am getting the hang of it. Very pleased. It renders better than the Baryta surface using a luster print setting. WHOOP!

I bought this paper to see if it might be a replacement for Ilford Gold Fiber Silk paper which was not available at that time. It is similar in some ways and much different in others. While it does not replace Gold Fiber it is useful in other ways. It works well on my printer

Love this paper!

This is probably the best satin or semi-gloss PK inkjet paper available currently. No OBAs but still very white. Very durable surface, extremely good DMax. With some images with lots of near-white highlights you might see a small amount of gloss differential. I use Hahnemuhle protective spray on these sheets and it works perfectly to eliminate any gloss differential.

Renders colors in such a natural and subtle way – it’s as if my photos look better than they did in my memory.

great for color or b and w

I REALLY like this paper. It really feels like the silver paper I used to print on in the darkroom. And the blacks are fantastic! I like the black and white prints so much I haven’t taken the time to print any color recently to see how that looks on the Platine.
