I have selected Platine as my standard paper. It is crisp, holds a wide tonal range, good saturation, and just enough pleasing texture to keep the surface from being too shiny. I have never had a quality issue with any Canson paper. Their products are excellent.

Great for printing black and white images. Closest look to a true darkroom paper I’ve seen in an inkjet print. I preferred the platine paper over their baryta rag because it has a slightly warmer tone to it.

I use this paper mostly for printing black and white film scans and I love how the paper looks. The texture is subtle but gorgeous, and it allows for really nice blacks. It is slightly off-white, which I like. It reminds me of a nicer version of Foma’s Velvet darkroom paper, which was my favorite while printing in the wet darkroom. I also have used it for a few color prints but the ones I have printed don’t have a wide range of colors and tones – they are more minimal so I can’t really speak to how the paper does with color.
