I needed to remove the muzzle brake on my AR, which requires either a very thin wrench or the use of vice grips or a pipe wrench. A very thin wrench was the only way to remove it without doing damage to the brake. The Home Depot “Capri” wrench set is thin but extremely strong and got the job done with no damage to the tool or the brake. This wrench set is a “keeper”. I expect to have and use them for years to come!

A great four piece set of 15-degree extra slim SAE sized wrenches. Jaws are precision sized. The finish is excellent. And these wrenches are EXTRA thin. One can almost say that “If these don’t fit, nothing will.” The 15-degree angle also accommodates the most constrained swing angles. The manufacturer says they’re made of chrome vanadium steel. According to the Capri website, chrome vanadium is a type of spring steel containing approximately 0.8% chromium and 0.1-0.2% vanadium. That, and the chrome plating, vouches for their corrosion resistance – but does not clarify their material grade or strength. They also are described as having been forged and heat treated. Because of their perfect finish, I haven’t the heart to spark test them, and I’ve not been near a Brinell tester since their arrival. However, I also have not been able to bend or nick them with any non-abusive use. Those processes (forging and heat treating) impart toughness to the alloy. I’m certain that virtually all jam nuts, gland nuts and similar shallow fasteners I encounter will not be seized to the extent that occurs with heavy duty threaded fasteners. The machining profile is remarkably comfortable, given the wrenches’ small cross-section. These tools evoke a lot of pride of ownership and are easy to maintain. They come with a tool stand that lies right into a roll cabinet drawer. (It also has wall-mounting holes.) Searching the Capri website, I found that there is a corresponding 7-piece metric set. Relatively speaking, this set is well-priced at $31.49. And already I am hankering for the metric set at $41.99.

The idea of a slim set of wrenches is awesome. I can’t think of how many times I’ve went to use a wrench only to find it was too thick. In the past, I’ve even hit some of my older ones with a grinder to make them thinner. This set is a nice thin set but the quality of the steel is something to be desired. I don’t think you would want to reef on them without causing damage to the tool. Handy, yes. Will I use them, yes. Quality, no.

Quality set of thin wrenches to get into those tight spaces. Finish is very good. I am very happy!

This is a very nice and seemingly well made set of thin wrenches. The quality is noticeably better than other brands at this price pt and below. Slightly contoured edges for somfirtable grip, chrome is impeccable, and engravings are easy to read as you see in pic below. Comes with nifty little wrench holder which is only about 2-3/4” long, meaning you can stick the wrenches (largest being 9-3/4” long) in the corner or back of your toolbox drawer and pull out as needed. Or keep them in their box which nicely cradles the wrench holder. These will actually get used more often than you’d imagine. From tightening air fittings, to tool and other attachments, to putting together / taking apart anything that comes with a lesser quality (and hard on the palms) thin wrench, these will become a go-to.For professionals, they will make getting to hard to reach fasteners and tight connections a lot less of a hassle. Plus being fixed, you don’t have to deal with tolerance issues and potentially stripped fasteners from using a low profile adjustable.Thicknesses in of each wrench:5/8” – 3/4”: ~1/8” thick1/2” – 9/16”: <= 1/8” thick3/8” - 7/16”: < 1/10” thick1/4” - 5/16”: 1/16” thickCan’t yet comment on durability, but they have more weight to them than other thin wrenches I’ve experienced. Tolerances for the flats appear to be in range of acceptable tolerances, meaning they shouldn’t slip on and strip a fastener unless you’re using the wrong size or it’s already been rounded. They shouldn’t be used to break loose a seized fastener anyway.Worthy of your consideration. I’ll be looking to add the metric set.
