The Capri Tools Quick Release Universal Joint Set helps you reach fasteners in tight corners and spaces. It features spring-loaded detent balls that securely hold sockets in place, and a pull down ring that effortlessly releases the sockets letting you switch between sockets on the fly. Constructed of premium Chrome Vanadium steel tempered with our proprietary heat treatment process to withstand more torque. Each item underwent careful polishing and protective plating process to achieve our own chrome finish. Chrome Vanadium tools are designed for hand tools and should be used with hand (non-powered) tools only. For applications using power tools, use Capri Tools impact sockets, adapters and extensions. 3-piece set: 1/4 in. drive, 3/8 in. drive, and 1/2 in. drive universal joints.

These three universals all lock by easily pushing the black ring down, inserting the socket or other attachment, and releasing the black ring. It stays locked. Push the black ring down, pull out the socket or other attachment, and release the black ring. My standard universals are push on/off without the locking feature. I like the locking feature.

As I was working on my truck I had some bolts that were in a tight awkward spot. I grabbed these u-joints. Put the socket on and connected to the extension and rachet. the ease of operation was nice. The u-joint accually locks the socket on. Very nice feature. They are very strong. I was able to get the bolts tight again when putting it back together. These are a must have if you are going to your own work.

Universal joints are not one of my most favorite things to use, as I have broken a few over the years. These seem to be made fairly solid and it (the 1/2in one) didn’t seem to give any while putting some power to it. The quick release is nice, but will take some getting used to as I kept grabbing that part to pull it off and dropping my socket. Time will tell how they hold up. The tray they come in is thin plastic, but will be good enough to store them in the toolbox without having to search for them.

I needed a set of joints to change the spark plugs on my car. I had some bolts on the back side that were hard to get to. This set of joints worked really well. They feel heavy and solidly made. The plastic joint release is a little bit awkward but seemed to work well once you get the hang of it. I would recommend this set to have around with your socket set.

These Capri, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch drive universal joint extensions are what every Do-It-Yourselfer needs ! Very strong and have light impact and air tool uses !The knurled Slip Ring makes it easy to change sockets with greasy fingers !They are very tight and do not flop around so, they stay at the angle you need !By their construction, they should stay this way and last a very long time !I highly recommend !!!
