The Capri Tools 1/2 in. Drive Wobble Extension Bar is two tools in one. It can be used as a wobble extension bar when an offset clearance is needed or as a regular rigid extension bar. The wobble feature enables you to reach and turn fasteners that are obstructed and can only be reached at an angle. It allows up to 15° offset. Spring-loaded ball detent holds sockets securely in place. When fully inserted (not at an angle), the extension bar locks into a regular rigid extension bar. Knurled non-slip grip is designed for hand turning loosened fasteners. These extension bars are constructed of premium Chrome Vanadium steel tempered with our proprietary heat treatment process to withstand more torque. Each item underwent careful polishing and protective plating process to achieve our own chrome finish. Three 1/2 in. drive wobble extension bars are included in the set: 5, 10, and 15 in. long.

The Capri Tools Wobble Extension Set, ½” drive consists of 3 extensions, 5”, 10” and 15”. They are made from Chromium-Vanadium forged steel in Taiwan and seem to be of very good quality. They have a knurled handle for better grip when “finger-spinning” and worked in every ½” drive socket I tried. The tools function both as a standard extension (insert fully) and a wobble one (insert either to socket detent or align friction ball with socket hole). I have attached a picture with the max amount of deflection using the 10-inch bar as an example. They are claimed to have 15 degrees of movement and that seems about right to the naked eye. Overall, these are a nice addition to the tool chest and are a good supplement/replacement for a set of u-joint sockets.

This is one of those tools that you don’t always need, but when you do these things are priceless. The set fit my needs very well as it came with 3 different lengths. I’ve used these with ratcheting wrenches numerous times to work on my yamaha outboard engine. They are perfect for the lower unit bolts. I wouldn’t recommend using them with pneumatic tools.

I was a little concerned about the wobble feature making the extensions not functional for heavy jobs, but it doesn’t have any impact on their strength. They actually fit snug into the sockets and have enough play to get a little more side angle but not so much that they don’t feel solid. The manufacturers claims 15 degrees, it doesn’t feel like that much but I didn’t measure it. The shape of the tip does make it easier to use, great product.

I’d definitely recommend the Capri Tools 1/2 inch drives wobble extension bar set for the professional or weekend mechanic. The set comes with a 5, 10 and 15 inch extension and is constructed of premium chrome vanadium forged steel that is heat treated for strength and longevity. They come with a limited lifetime warranty against defects from workmanship and materials. The 15 degrees of movement in all directions helps with hard to reach areas. I’m impressed with the strength and quality.
