The Capri Tools Hex Key Wrench Set is constructed of premium S2 steel, a steel used only for premium hand tools for its shock-resistant and tough properties, outperforming Chrome Vanadium and lesser alloy steels, and therefore our hex key wrenches maintain their shape with heavy use. Each hex key wrench features a hex end and a ballpoint end. Hex end features chamfered edges for easy insertion onto fasteners. Ballpoint end can enter a fastener at up to a 25° angle, reaching hard-to-reach areas. Our flexible single piece storage case opens flat so you can easily access your wrenches, and it folds and latches securely for easy carry and storage. The wrenches are finished with corrosion resistant smooth black oxide.

I got this hex key wrench set for one main reason – to stash in my saddle bag for on the road bicycle repairs. While a smaller set, it had the nine hex wrenches that I needed to fit everything adjustable on my all-metric bike. They come enclosed in a nice holder that keeps them from getting lost or rattling around in my saddle bag. That’s what I got them for, but you may need a set for other purposes. And hex key sets are one of those kinds of tools that – if you’re not careful – you can end up with worthless twisted up junk. Rest assured that this set by CAPRI Tools is certainly of the higher end when it comes to quality. The ‘handle’ arms are longer, giving you a little extra torque when needed. Low quality sets won’t make the arms longer because that would make them bend even easier. CAPRI built strength into their hex keys using something called ‘S2 Steel’. I don’t know exactly what that stuff is, but it is VERY strong. These are NOT a bendy pretzel set. They also feature something they call a ‘ball point’ on the longer arm. I’ve had one set in the past that had that and one that didn’t (cheaper set) and I’ve found that the ball point ends really come in handy for hex key jobs as they allow you considerable flexibility (25 degrees) in getting the fitting into position. It’s amazing how many times that little angle of convenience turns out to make an aggravating job in tight places so much easier – or even possible. In short, hex key wrenches are one of those tools where better quality really makes a big difference when it comes down to time for you to do a job that needs them. These meet that quality standard easily. I like them so much that I’m looking into getting their larger set, (Home Depot Model # CP130MST) which contains 27 pieces of both SAE and Metric varieties, plus a set of Torx wrenches. In fact, you can make that your only real decision: What SIZE set you want. The quality will be there there, whichever you decide on. For me, this set is just perfect for my bike. But a larger set would sure look nice in the garage too!

I was very happy to find these. Most value hex wrench sets are rather flimsy, soft and tend to flex a lot. This set is heavy duty. S2 steel is the reason. Not only are they well build and designed, they come with a carrying case that is very convenient to use…….. The ball point end of course gives you the freedom needed in those areas where you can’t get a direct line on the fastener… Sizing and fitment is good on all sizes. A great tool set!

This long-arm metric hex key set with ball point (Allen wrenches) works well and seems to be made of good steel. Some cheap tools look like a cork screw once you tried to open the first screw with them or are already round and therefore trash, but this hasn’t happened with this set.I like that they are not chrome plated, which splinters off after a few uses anyway. The individual wrenches are easy to remove without being too lose.

This allen wrench set replaces the cheap one I bought a few years ago. On that set, most of the smaller sizes are worn and rounded. The cheap set proved worthless and the ones from the tool truck guys are much too expensive and not much better than this one. I used this set so far on my wife’s old Benz to replace a turn signal switch (where the swivel ends were very beneficial) as well as some minor transmission work. It appears to be a pretty tough tool so far.

Terrific set. There is a little holder that keeps the hex in place. This is the perfect set for a bike mechanic, as metric is still the standard for bicycles. All of this for a fraction of the cost of the industry standard set by Park Tools. Those are strongly made, the ballpoint end is helpful in order to get traction in those tight areas. Truly recommend it, this set is of terrific value.
